Glasgow's East End... ParkHead Town Centre. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Parkhead (Scots: Pairkheid) is a district in the East End of Glasgow. Its name comes from a small weaving hamlet at the meeting place of the Great Eastern Road (now the Gallowgate and Tollcross Road) and Westmuir Street. Glasgow's Eastern Necropolis cemetery was laid out in the area in 1847 beside the Gallowgate.
There are local challenges; people living in Parkhead, Dalmarnock and Camlachie have poorer life outcomes than the city average. The average number of years that local men are likely to spend in good health is 47, the lowest in Glasgow, compared to the Glasgow. average of 56.
There's no getting away from the fact the eara is rough and poor, but the majority of the folks are the salt of the earth.

Lived up the road in Tollcross for 5 years about a decade ago. Loved it out that way. You hear that places like Parkhead, Tollcross and Shetleson are rough which they can be but not for the average person just living their life. Its only rough if your involved in all that or if you're a young team age male, I was well into my 20s. All the regeneration out that was is fantastic. Tollcross Park was an amazing thing to have on your doorstep. It would have been handy to have been a Celtic fan so I could walk to games but I watch my football at ibrox and even that was only a 15 minute drive if you went early and left on the 85th minute. I really took it in...looks different and yet the same (a bit) as Canada. The mall The Forge is interesting, the many small shops of Glasgow along the main street, the colours just pop - so vibrant. Elegant part of town.
