I was in Cranhill during the 70's as a small child. I was taken to Easterhouse often to the pool and to the shopping centre. It was a very rough area but there was some good people in it. I was back there in 2019 and was at the new library and saw that the pool had been converted a little. The shopping centre was exactly how I remembered it in the 70's although with less shops open. Nice to see that some of the area has been redeveloped.

Enjoyed that my friend. I was brought up in Easterhouse in the 60s/ 70s. I agree that there were hard times then but as you say lots of good people. Puts me in the mood for a wee run there myself. Unfotunately my old street no longer exists the old closes seem to have bitten the dust! Thank you. A wee subscribe and a like well earned. Cheers

I lived on Lochdochart Rd in the 1980s (that's my block on the right at 14:49 or straight in front of you at 17:01). Big changes since then. It was all tenement closes then. No shops, so we had to go out to Billy's van on Dalilea Drive.

The church on the Edinburgh Road is where I was christened. I also went to Sunday School there for a while. In the late 70s I used to have to sign on at the brew up in Easterhouse. I saw the shopping centre being built. I sometimes went to the swimming baths and occasionally went into the community centre. I painted the Festy mural for the Easterhouse festival one year. There’s a bit of an amusing but embarrassing tale about that. 😄😳
