Steve. I am, once again, blown away by your film- and field-craft. This is simply stunning. I cant begin to imagine just how much time, effort and knowledge is needed to put a camera in such a challenging natural environment. A world away from my nestbox efforts. Kudos mate, truly.

You should maybe put some extra soil in the scrape for next year if possible it’s something Dick Roxburgh done for years in the Galloway hills.

He made this super cute voices and she let him wait so long, that's not fair 🥺😉 Did i understand the end right, no breed in that nest this year? Hopefully the male and his girl friend found another place and got their babies.

Pure gold. Was it difficult to get that camera there? How did you know to put it there? Had birds nested there in previous years or did you just see the male there.
@Glasgowurbanwildlife2 жыл бұрын
Hi the birds have nested there the last 2 years ! The camera is on a tripod 5 meters up point diagonally down at the nest! I controlled camera from a nearby hide using WiFi! Many thanks for watching

@@Glasgowurbanwildlife it does seem to be an ideal spot. They have the cover of that large stone on the left and the couple of stones at the front stopping anything that may roll away. Imagine how many pairs have or haven’t nested there over the past few thousand years. Loads? Or are the pairs you witnessed recently the first pairs to find that spot?🤷 You just never know . You must spend an extra ordinary amount of time searching all the nest sites out. Peregrines, sparrowhawks . I don’t suppose you’ve got a goshawk breeding site you’ve been keeping to your self?😂

@@BelowTheGold if you look back to my peregrine video from 2 years ago you will see it was actually an old ravens nest on that spot. Now the nest is all but gone there isnt much substrate for the eggs to go in! this might be why they failed. I have been thinking of goshawks but its a hard nut to crack!
