2 concers: what's the maximum temperature if that cant be controlled? Heat escapes from the gap on top of glass, will that be too hot around the machine?

I've shown the max temp in the video, its also in the link i provided in the description. As for the heat of the device, yes, it tends to get hot around the sides, but no major foul plastic aroma or anything physical or melting noticed - its good quality. We use this device frequently till today - as a food reheater.

It's a heating element, it heats up food. The glass container contains less chemicals than the non stick containers

Sir, is it normal na yung pinaka timer nya is nag flicker na nawawala yung number para kase hindi naluto yung fries.. Though, sinunod ko nman po instructuons newbie lang eh

My unit po kapag pinindot yung on button. Steady lang yung timer. Pababa ng oras per minutes po kasi yun. Maganda po siyang initan not so much magluto ng fries (watch the video po hanggang sa dulo, luto yung chicken pero di crispy). If you think May problem sa item, contact Petrus through Lazada.
