I find it convenient to jump 10 frames to the end point and set my keyframes, then jump back to the start point and repeat the process.

Nice job on this one! Learned some new things with Motion, and created my first transition that looks decent.

Hello, still a pleasure, your talking is clear, which makes it easier to understand for a non natural anglophone like me. Question : since you said that a clone layer is modified the way its source is, could you have selected only the 2 sources layers @12:50 and apply them the rotation angle, instead of selecting the 4 layers ?

Could you use this as a transition Jenn?

Very interesting tutorial, would it have been possible to use a negate type behavior to reverse the animation on the right side and avoid redoing the alignment and the animation ? Or another mirror-like technique? Surely if I go through a mirror technique I could not personalize each Glass Pane.

Thanks. I followed your tutorial exactly, but my effect is quite slow in Final Cut compared to yours.

It was not difficult to follow your excellent tutorial. I saved the project after the first instruction and then only hit CMD-S to update the saved file but only when I was sure I had completed the new step correctly. Only once did I have to Revert to Saved but it was only one step back. An easy rescue! Thank you.

I might just get the plug in, this just seems like such a pane in the glass. 😛

Hi Jenn! Thanks so much for all your content, really love your work! I was wondering if you could do a video tutorial on the basics of Project Layers in Motion... I seem to get it wrong all the time. How to put the layers in the right order, when to group them, which group should be on top of which other group, which layer should be on top... Sometimes we need to put one layer into its separate group, and sometimes we need to apply a behavior to that group and sometimes to a specific layer instead - why? What is the difference? And often when I apply a behavior to a layer (or group), nothing happens. Help! I seem to get it all muddled up. Would really appreciate a tutorial on this explaining these basics, I can't seem to find a good video anywhere about this! Thank you so much!

Wow!! You know how to teach so that it is fun and interesting to learn. Thank you, I just wished I had stubbled on this sooner because I had purchased some FXffects with glass pane transitions. They are pretty cool to use. Knowing how to design my own just makes it better all around.

Jenn, this tutorial on glass panes was excellent...and fun, too! I'm not at the stage that this tutorial covers, but I will soon be taking your Motion Tutorial. This way I'll be able to understand and apply the many effects that you have taught me. Thank you Jenn and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023!!!

Hi Jenn, I have a question. I have a M1 Macbook pro , 16GB memory. 1TB HDD has a more than enough storage space for the moment . My problem is that. While working on a Motion project very simple one, like stars emitter and one still pictures, rendering process gets slower. Is there any thing I can do to speed it up?
@JennJagerPro
@JennJagerPro Жыл бұрын
Emitters are actually one of the more taxing elements for Motion, so even though your project may seem simple, the emitters take a lot of juice.

From FCP, select the effect/title/transition/generator you want to modify, right-click and select Open in Motion. Beyond that, every Motion template is built uniquely, so you really need to know how to use Motion to customize them.
