The magnetic mask feature was so legendary, and I can’t imagine more on Final Cut Pro 12

Great tips! Tbank you. I DID know about the last effect, but I couldn't remember how it was done. Thank you for the reminder! Have a better day!

This is such an incredible guide, it actually teaches how to use the magnetic timeline and save time rather than fighting it

I love the Snapping (N) and go back and forth with it on or off depending on what I need. Sometimes the playhead is in a particular spot and I can't do something bear it without the tool snapping to that spot. Just hit N and you can put your tool anywhere without it getting sucked somewhere else. SNAPPING

I was hoping you had a tip for improving timing, accuracy, and the overlapping mess of captions I get from every audio clip in my timeline no matter how short. It’s insane that this feature does not perform a mixdown of selected Roles. I find the built-in captions completely unusable.

Moving from iMovie to either FCP or DaVinci Resolve. These are so helpful. Still undecided yet…looking forward to watching more! Cheers

would be nice to have more creative tools built-in FCP for making captions as stylized titles (ala capcut). have you tried MacWhisper for translations?

How do I remove a small amount of green screen spill on top of hair in FCPX GSK? Which control does it best. Thank you.

BTW, did you know that if you add two different titles (or variations on the same title) captionAnimator will cycle through them?
@JennJagerPro2 күн бұрын
I did not! Good to know!

Some good tips here, although, if you know the commercial needs to be 30 seconds max then you should probably manage the music element first. This way you can then cut the visual edit to the beats, this will creating a more pleasing experience.

Tried to do burn in comments but when exporting out from Compressor into mp4, the captions are not visible. Love the tips. Keep up the greatness!

Yes, burning in captions in Compressor is irritating.

Thanks for the tips, Jenn...super helpful. Which macOS are you using and have you experienced any issues? Wanting to upgrade to FCP 11 but I'm on Sonoma 14.2.1. Not sure if I want to go to the minimum required Sonoma 14.6.1 (which I've heard is buggy), or Sequoia 15.1. Thoughts?
@JennJagerPro4 күн бұрын
I’m on FCP 11 and Sequoia - there are a few bugs that i think are getting fixes very soon, but overall I’m happy.

That was fantastic I am a hack 71 year old FCP user and captions had escaped me. Do you have videos or courses for beginners? Greeting from Brisbane down under.

Clarity, smarts and grace is your teaching style. Thank you. I've watched several of yours (and others) as I try to transition from FCP7, which I've used 10+ years, to X. Stumbling and fumbling all the way thru the timeline. Why is it so hard LOL?

looking at all the youtube videos today trying to replace capcut. does not seem to be an easy editor out there quite like capcut. They had a great face filter built in you could adjust easily and it would take care of the whole video in one click This is too much work. uggghhhhhh
