Qualifying rules:
Q1 - 4 teams are launched for a full lap from the start of the pits starting line. 2 best times go to Q4 and the 2 eliminated are below 7th waiting for the best time placement.
Q2 - 4 teams are launched for a full lap from the start of the pits starting line. 2 best times go to Q4 and the 2 eliminated are below 7th waiting for the best time placement.
Q3 - 4 teams are launched for a full lap from the start of the pits starting line. 2 best times go to Q4 and the 2 eliminated are below 7th Here the starting grid from 7th to 12th place is already defined.
Q4 - A race with the 6 ranked will be defined the starting grid based on their previous time. After the start it will be a 2 lap race. The final result defines the starting grid from 1st to 6th place.

Rainforest is screwed because he’s starting in the 2nd position and there apparently a problem with that starting gate.

Mistake: Dragon’s Tail came in after Angel but finished above Angel in the standings

I love this setup, but I’m pretty sure rattlesnake had a slower time than nitro but crossed the line second (meaning nitro closed the gap that existed when the lap began) so even tho rattlesnake crossed the line second they really should be eliminated??? Pls explain

Exactly. To make it to Q2, the marble has to be in the top 2 of their heat. The times only matter for 3rd and 4th being sorted for their grid positions. Personally, I think that having the top two times (grid 7 and 8) join the Q2 shootout would be an interesting way to compensate for situations like what happened with Nitro.
