I asked this question last week and found out that lap times do not matter if you finish in the top two; which I think is a really stupid format. EDIT: In the first qualifying run, Penguin and Volcano had better lap times than Black Shadow and Canarium but they were both eliminated while the slower marbles advanced. It makes no sense. Check out Jelle’s Marble Runs “Marbula One” series if you’d like qualifiers, races, and points distribution to make more sense.

Don’t you think that positioning for marble races that are based off of NASCAR and/or Formula 1 races should be determined by each competitor’s fastest lap time… like in NASCAR and Formula 1? The two or three lap shootout for positioning at the end of the qualifying round is a nice added touch as it makes the qualifying rounds far more entertaining to watch. But even then, the positioning in the shootout is determined by the lap times in the qualifying round. Please note that I have asked you two questions. If you are to reply, please address both of them. Thanks.

@@johnnydropkicks I recall 5 Meter Hurdles, Team Aquathlon in 2022 as complaints. And about the second paragraph I would suggest the two or three lap shootout for pole position.

If only the second lap is counted for time, then it shouldn’t matter where they finish. The 4th place marble could have the fastest time in the group, but gets penalized for having a bad first lap.
