I wear both contacts AND glasses at the same time! I wear glasses to cover my vision correction needs and Alcon's night&day aqua contacts (that can be worn for 30 days and nights without taking them out at all) that are 0.00 correction or "plano" for my severe chronic dry eye issues that are secondary to having an autoimmune condition (Sjogrens syndrome).

The combo! Plano contacts like that are also sometimes used for people with keratoconus, where your cornea bulges outwards. The contact prevents that bulging from happening

Contacts 100%! Glasses press on my face and cause migraines. But now my vision has degraded enough I might not be able to wear them anymore😢

You might be able to find some different types of frames that don't press on your face as much!

I always wore daily contacts because I personally hate wearing glasses on my nose all day long. Now I'm thinking about ortho-k . what do you think about it? are they better choice than daily contact lenses?
@Vision-Vibes
@Vision-Vibes 8 күн бұрын
They both have pros and cons! Ortho-k lenses are best for people with mild to moderate myopia (nearsightedness) and do let you go all day without needing glasses or contacts (which is awesome), but they can be more expensive upfront, require strict cleaning regimens, and you may have a gradual decline in visual clarity throughout the day as the effects wear off

Great question though! I'll probably make a full video breaking down the differences

@@Vision-Vibes thanks! because I am highly considering it, since I prefer to use contact lenses more than glasses ( I barely know where I left them the last time lol) . I have always used daily contact lenses to be more hygienic also, but the ortho-k "magic" it's something that really intrigue me that's why I asked. Thanks for the reply! :)

I tried contacts various times, and never ended up getting into them. I see less clearly than with glasses, and they're supper annoying to live with.

Glasses do technically give you slightly better vision correction in most cases

I'm team glasses! I don't know if there's any softlens that accommodate both my myopia and astigmatism in my both eyes? If there's any, what brand it is?
@Vision-Vibes
@Vision-Vibes 4 ай бұрын
@@Halzion_Alpha yeah you should be able to find some! Your eye doctor can certainly help, but on Warby Parker's website it looks like you can order Acuvue Oasys soft contacts that can have specs for both your myopia and astigmatism

What I did was tilt my head slightly down while staring at a mirror and pressing it to the white of my eye towards the bottom while holding it open and they always kinda just went into place. I don't know if it's a good method but it worked well enough for me, and to take em off I'd do the same thing kinda but slide them towards the white of my eye again and gently pinch

Looking away from your hand as you put them in can help. It’s much easier to put the contact on the edge of your eye and blink it into place rather than adhering it directly onto your iris. Also, not staring at your finger while it comes toward your eye helps you avoid blinking or flinching

Even if I had correction surgery, I would continue wearing glasses with non-prescription lenses. Keeping the wind, branches, etc out of my eyes without needing goggles 24/7 is all I care about. They make elastic bands to keep glasses attached to you if the pair is THAT bad staying on your face. I never had that issue with wire frames, but nearly all plastic ones have been straight instead of more curled off at the ends to wrap around your ears and hold in place. Contacts are a pain in the ass too. Gotta keep them in solution amd clean them off constantly. If I don't dust and clean my glasses, nothing happens. If I don't clean off the contacts, the dust will scratch my cornea and the un-disinfected lens will give me allergy bumps at best, an eye infection at worst. No thank you.

I’m a nonstop headphones with compression user (due to autism) so I’m a contact user by necessity. I want to find a way to attach glasses to my headphones so that I can wear them without squeezing the fuck out of my ears and head

Maybe you could cut the frames of a pair of glasses short and super glue them to a pair of headphones?
@sergio_henrique
@sergio_henrique 4 ай бұрын
Is that a problem even with "over ear" headphones as opposed to "on ear" headphones? I use glasses and used to feel the pressure on my ears when I was using my "on ear" headphones after a while, but ever since switching to "over ear", that has stopped altogether.
