I don't get it, I adore this EP and I was at this show, to me its one of the best things they've ever done.
@morganjones1333 жыл бұрын
What a show I remember this so vividly I just wrote this to share this video to FB, figured some of you might appreciate it: Nearly 10 years ago Glassjaw played at the Forum, the show was great, they played all the bangers, they played their most recent music off Our Colour Green, they left, we all got ready to leave.... it’s what happened next that matters. It was at this point they returned to the stage and played new music that no one had heard, it took us all by surprise given they had released an EP (our colour green) in January of 2011 only a few months before this show, and they’d played most of it in the previous 90min set, but this was new, and different. No one really knew what it was, the encore simply opened with Daryl Palumbo stating “we’ve been writing some music and we’d love to play it for you” at which point they played, and they didn’t stop to chit chat, they just immersed themselves and everyone else in the room into their music. Come the end of the encore Palumbo thanked everyone for “being a great audience” and screens lit up with the words “collect your copy of Colouring Book tonight” on it. If you were at that show you left with an EP handed out free to everyone as we all left. Until this last week that EP has not been on streaming sites, nor could you buy it, either you were there, or you weren’t. Of course it ended up online and shared between friends, but it wasn’t easy to find. It was always special to me, to the point when I was handed 2 as I left, I still have one sealed, on a shelf. I had no idea until now that this was filmed, I’m there, somewhere, and I still remember the feeling when they came back and played new music, but it’s the fact they kept the new music for the fans who went to their shows, kept it special for so long that makes me reflect on my experience fondly. In an age where some artists don’t even bother with releasing an album, and simply release tracks when they are ready, or by the time there is an album you’ve heard 5 of the 9 tracks already, I commend Glassjaw for keeping music special. If you don’t have time for the whole 28minutes, or it’s not your bag, then skip to 24mins, the last 4 minutes of this set just gave me the same goosebumps all over again. 10 years later.

I still have found nothing that has compared musically to Coloring Book. It's so unique in and of itself, but it came out of nowhere from a band WELL revered within the confines of the NY-hardcore scene, and the post-hardcore genre as a whole. Saw them on the tour with Coheed in Florida when they were handing this out as a physical CD, sort of like a companion piece to the digital EP Our Color Green.

Ape Dos Mil, Must’ve Run All Day, Trailer Park Jesus, Convectuoso, Oxycodone… Список можно продолжать долго
