I'm back at it! I'm finally getting around to the Glastron rebuild. I'll start the last of the demo soon enough. Stay tuned to the next episode were we take a deep dive into getting this ready for fiberglass. Sadly, the outboard is going to have to come off!

what are you referring to when you mention varnish eating the fuel tank, varnish from the pine needles?

I imagine it was the fuel sitting in the tank that causes the aluminum to start developing holes. Fuel turns into gummy residue that clogs the fuel pump and carb as it deteriorates.

Question for you regarding the volvo penta build, when you laid the Kevlar on the decking, did you do large sheets of it or strips? What would you recommend for laying 1708? Large sheets?

I ran large sheets of Kevlar and uses of 1708 was replaced solely with standard Kevlar. So far on the boat, zero regrets.
