I'm a Blender newb and not understanding how to get it into a project I'm working. Do I append it into a project, or import it?
@GlebAlexandrov
@GlebAlexandrov 9 ай бұрын
There are three options: * Append * Import * Or my favorite, just Ctrl C to copy (in the Dust Particles blend file), then Ctrl V into your scene I hope it makes sense :)

@@GlebAlexandrov Makes total sense, and I understand why your favorite is option 3, which I’ll use. I tried appending but the .blend just opened up into a bunch of sub folders kind of like it was its own Blender branded zip file, and it was at that point I got confused and wasn’t sure what part of the sub folder network I should be appending. Then I went to google trying to self help, and failed at finding the answer. I can almost always self-help into problem solving, but was failing in this instance and your reply saved me a lot of frustration. I appreciate you, thanks!

@@Ferrous_Bueller That's precisely why I find it easier to just copy-paste stuff across the scenes rather than trying to find it in the subfolders of the .blend file structure :) Glad that you sorted it out though!

I'm still trying to figure out a way to create these type of particles in Blender: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4KwdK18odN6nsk / kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqvQcqqrbcagos0 I wonder if GN can handle this type of stuff and how would you create it?

CANT GET THIS TO WORK WHEN FILM IS SET TO TRANSPARENT,
@GlebAlexandrov
@GlebAlexandrov 9 ай бұрын
I wonder do you mean in the context of taking the render out of Blender and using it elsewhere? If so then one option is to enable the diffuse/translucency checkbox. That will force the alpha. However, if diffuse/translucency changes the look in any way that might be undesired in the given context then instead enable the emission pass in the view layer tab of the properties window. Then use the emission output of the render layer in the compositor, it should be automatically against a black background meaning the image that is output can then simply be 'added' in whatever other software is desired, be it krita or resolve or whatever. In any case, it's a good idea to join our discord as if this also doesn't answer the question then we can elaborate further there with images etc, plus there maybe some other things in the thread already that could be of interest. discord.gg/nNReRkzWsh Hope that helps! :) Aidy.

In png images are empty. How can I fix it? In render view they're ok
@GlebAlexandrov

Are you trying to save the image with transparency/alpha? Like, as separate layer?
@designolia
@designolia 9 ай бұрын
@@GlebAlexandrov yes, with transparency
@GlebAlexandrov
@GlebAlexandrov 9 ай бұрын
@@designolia Ah ok, I know what you mean. We'll try to implement some solution in the future versions to make it easier to compose the DP+ layers, but so far, I'll try to explain why it works like this and what can be done. Let's put it like this: the flame-like emission is supposed to have the alpha of 0 (just like a real flame doesn't cast a shadow, it's fully transparent AND having visible color/brightness at the same time). www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/np7m8q/flames_dont_have_shadows_on_the_fundamental_level/ What can be done instead of saving the image+alpha (a transparent png for example) for the DP+ layer, if you want to use it in compositing as a separate pass? The workaround is to make everything except the DP+ layer black by giving it a black or a holdout material. And then you can render it and save it as RGB (without transparency), then in compositing use the Add mode to overlay it on top of whatever footage it should be placed on top. There are a few other things that can be done to compose it properly, Aidy explained it in detail on our Discord (in the Dust Particles+ sub-channel): discord.com/channels/823920822916874302/1115669524453269598/1179779377093939301

You can add dust video and blend it. Don't need this effect. Mixing VFX can made amazing results

Dear Gleb, sorry for rather beginners question, but how can I incorporate this asset in my existing scene?
@xanzuls
@xanzuls Жыл бұрын
The easiest way to do would be just copy the object that has the geometry nodes modifier and then paste it on your project and then add a new geometry nodes modifier to an object in your project and select this geometry nodes from the drop down.

Thanks for your question! :) As @xanzuls has pointed out, probably the easiest way would be to Ctrl C it in the Dust Particles+ .blend file, then Ctrl V it in your scene. And it should work right away. Alternatively, the DP+ object can be appended to any scene via File > Append. Please let me know if it helps! :)
