This is Darren's best cover on Glee. This type of song really suits his voice.

***** *Addition* yes I would say obviously since he had such a main role after the came in. Voice-wise I think the second generation of the male cast were more powerful. But their characters were just dragging the series.

On the one hand, this song is so perfect in the context in which it was sung. The juxtaposition of Darren Criss’s beautiful voice, the crazy emotional acting skills, that song, and Karofsky’s suicide attempt are stunning. On the other hand, though, part of me keeps thinking, ‘Should have saved that for Nationals, Blaine. Or at least sung it twice.’ Honestly, as far as I am concerned, that is the most powerful song of the show, and the most beautifully performed. And they are both such tremendous actors. On a different note, I always feel that Karofsky should have returned to McKinley after all of the bullying, and joined the glee club. He would have been welcomed and celebrated there. And he has a good voice. But seriously. Darren Criss. Wow.

Lyrics: Life's too short to even care at all, oh. I'm losing my mind, losing my mind, losing control, oh oh. These fishes in the sea, their staring at me, oh oh oohh. A wet world aches for a beat of a drum, oh oh. If I could find a way to see this straight, I'd run away, To some fortune that I, I should have found by now. I'm waiting for this cough syrup, To come down, come down. **Break** Life's too short to even care at all, oh. I'm coming up now, coming up now, coming up now, out of the blue, oh oh. These zombies in the park, they're looking for my heart, oh oh oohhh. A dark world aches for a splash of the sun, oh oh ohh. If I could find a way to see this straight, I'd run away, To some fortune that I, I should have found by now, and so I run now to the things they say could restore me, restore life the way it should be. I'm waiting for this cough syrup to come down. One more spoon of cough syrup now, oh. One more spoon of cough syrup now, oh oh.

I came back to this song today when darren wrote about his brother suicide, i've been dealing with depression since a year ago and this makes me sad but also with some faith "life's to short to even care all" i hope everyone that is dealing with this can get through, we are not alone.

Everyone’s performances in this scene are flawless. Max Adler really proved how talented of an actor he is. It feels so real. I strongly admire and respect his portrayal of Karofsky. I can’t put into words how much this scene makes me feel. He did such an incredible job, and showed his story in a way that you can’t write. On Darren’s part, his vocals and acting choices are absolutely incredible. I’ve heard him sing so many songs, but this one always sticks out to me. He brilliantly blends the raw emotion of the scene into the fact that Blaine doesn’t know about Karofsky’s suicide attempt. If you took Dave’s scenes out it would just look like Blaine’s singing another song. But if you took out the shots in the auditorium, it seems like a song specifically sung to go along with the scene (If that makes any sense). I could write an essay on this scene and I adore it so dearly.
@imateakettle Жыл бұрын
I know this comment is old, but you’re totally right. Adler really does show that feeling of “I wanna die but what about the people I care about”. This is coming from someone who is only alive for fear of hurting those i love.

These scenes, coupled with Kurt's visit to the hospital later made this a heart wrenching episode. Even 'Grilled Cheesus' didn't affect me this bad; and that was full of Kurt-hospital scenes. I am NEVER emotionally prepared for this video. Believe me, I do think this was one of THE BEST performances EVER on Glee. (In my own opinion that is.) When you meet Karofsky, you instantly dislike him. He was a bully, he was a jerk, and an antagonist you would say. I personally disliked him VERY VERY much especially how he treated Kurt. Season 3, when he kissed Kurt, I wasn't expecting it. I thought it was a great storyline- with Karofsky actually being a homosexual himself, closeted, scared, but hid it with bullying other homosexuals. No matter how much you liked or disliked him, I guarantee that you will NOT feel the same as you did before you watched this scene. Yes, I disliked Karofsky every time I saw him, but I cry every time I hear this cover, see gifs or photos, and even watch this performance. No matter who you are as a person or what you did, nobody should EVER have to go through something like this. Yes, he got a taste of his own medicine, I do admit that, but he did not deserve to die- and luckily he didn't With Darren narrating this song with emotions and having the scenes of Dave, it made me cry like a baby, and will everytime i see it. I feel like this was a true and honest moment on Glee.

This scene is one of the most gut-wrenching in the history of Glee. I was literally shocked and horrified by this, and even though I hated Karofsky as a character, it was horrible to see him go through this..plus Darren Criss's performance is absolutely AMAZING!

This is so beautiful and meaningful . Darren is so good! I still remember first seeing him on a very Potter Musical and from that day since now I am hopelessly devoted to him ... #truestory
