I can't believe that I didn't realise how creepy Will was until my pandemic rewatch. If spying on Finn, a 16 year old minor, in the shower wasn't creepy enough, he actually gets away with planting drugs on him to blackmail him into joining the Glee Club. Will doesn't even care that he's jeopardising Finn's future. And years later, once Finn FINALLY finds out the truth, his own response is to laugh and say "You're the coolest, Mr Schue!" Emm, WHAT?! 🤦🏽‍♀️

I hated how they made light of student/teacher relationships and date rape. Sam and Puck dated Shelby and the school nurse while both underage, and none experienced any known consequences. Sue blackmailing Figgins into thinking that they had slept together was entirely played for laughs, and never would have made it to air if the genders had been reversed.

also the response to (in one of the later seasons) a boy admits he was sexually assaulted by his female babysitter and the other guys are like "dude you're so lucky"

@@AllySheehan I think it's super (unfortunately) common for people to respond that way when a male victim speaks out but where I think glee went wrong is nobody corrected that response. They just let those characters think that way and moved on.

With a rewatch, you watch it with an adult perspective and see that he actually wasn't. I think that feeling is just shocking a lot of people :P That he "got away with it" in our younger eyes

That line that Sue says about the band is my favorite line because it is so true. They are under appreciated when they play anything at the drop of the hat. They even filled in for New Directions when they needed more numbers. Not even a thank you. Lately, I have been picturing their dynamics together and seeing if behind the scenes, a couple of the New Directions kids actually acknowledge the band and practice songs with them. I also want them to make their own group at one point to prove how talented they are and should not be pushed around. Still figuring out how to write it.

I didn't like anyone at the beginning but Will, Finn, Kurt, Rachel grew on me. Also, Ride With Me is in the school because the cast was singing it during a break and they just rolled film.

I feel this show gets too bad of a rep. Bear with me here. A lot of it has not aged well, but it did many good things. It gave representation for (lack of a better term) marginalized groups. I love the friendships in the show. A large majority of the performances are excellent and iconic. I am keeping the actors and characters separate because the actions of the characters are different than the actions of the actors. I still love seeing most of the characters when I rewatch even if I get annoyed with some of their actions. I still love Blaine and kurt, sam, Mercedes, Quinn, britney, Emma, and the new kids if season 6. They are still good characters. Flawed but good. I don’t like how some inappropriate behavior was satirized like that gag where characters hear singing in the shower or Rachel sending Sunshine to a crack house, but stuff like the Rocky Horror episode minus the Mr. Shue scenes, embraced the ridiculousness of the original film. My favorite part of this show is Kurt and Burt. I am sorry but they are one of my favorite father son relationships on TV. I loved how Burt loved his son and stood up for him all of the time even when he could not understand him. Burt’s growth and acceptance of Kurt is heartwarming and I love seeing them take care of each other. Their close bond is refreshing. Their growth each season was always great to watch. So I don’t think all of this show is bad. Some aged well. Some things did not. It is still a fun show to watch and there are characters people connected to and related to. Does it deserve all the hate? i don’t believe so.

My first season favorite characters were Will and Rachel. Rachel is my fave till the end of the show but I don't really care for Will in other seasons. I still don't find him anywhere near as bad as people make him out to be. He is about as problematic as everyone else(if not less since for the most part he at least acknowledges when he has done something wrong and tries to make up for it) and is hated due to a double standard in the fandom when it comes to who people treat as a real person and who people treat as a fictional character.

People like to say that the reason Will is so disliked is because he was presented as a great person who can do nothing wrong when his behavior was often inappropriate, but he really wasn't presented that way at all. Sue's entire character exists to point out Will's flaws and Will himself often admits when he has done something wrong(even if it sometimes takes too long).

I watched about 7 or 8 episodes of the first season of Glee and I was like: Nope, this show is GARBAJE. No likeable characters (all the characters are written as unlikeable, overconfident and bitchy), the storylines are nonsense and some of those covers deserve prison especially Will's covers. Also the acting is very questionable lmao. Honestly my favorite might be Kurt. He's the only one who doesn't come off as too annoying to me
