Okay, I love how Finn and Kurt's relationship has grown. I also get Blaine and Burt's concerns, especially Blaine. He's been through a really traumatic experience and tbh, Kurt was pretty guilt trippy in this episode. I'm proud of Kurt for refusing to be anything that's not 100% him but I don't think he understands that other people, like Blaine (especially with his experiences with dances), struggle with that. Burt and Blaine aren’t wrong though. Finn asked him why he had to always make a spectacle of himself. Spencer called him out on wearing his sexuality as an identity all through school. actually this is you trying to police people into the “right” kind of gay. the gay teens who listen to whitney houston and watch murder she wrote are REAL because i was them and went to high school with them lmao. kurt genuinely IS a SPECTACLE. that is him being honest. finn said that because he was embarrassed of him at the time, and spencer said that because he has the luxury of passing, unlike kurt. kurt is himself, aside from moments where it’s blatantly obvious he’s pretending, from the first scene where finn recognizes that he can’t stop kurt from being thrown in the trash without being on the other side of the bullying himself, what he can do is help kurt not get his expensive jacket that means a lot to him, dirty. don’t accuse him of “not being himself” because you refuse to acknowledge that there are real people like him. especially considering he’s one of the best developed, most human characters on the show

Why is Kurt wearing a dress to prom? Why not...pants?
@midnightsparkle32764 жыл бұрын
What Kurt does here is so not okay. I'm not talking about the outfit of course, because he should be allowed to wear whatever he wants. But the thing is, it is obnoxious, it is provocative and really not something that is wise to wear to prom in Lima, Ohio in school full of homophobic assholes. And as much as I'm all for expressing yourself, you also have to be rational. Is it really worth it to get yourself and your boyfriend potentially beat up just so you can wear an outfit? It wouldn't matter that he didn't really do anything wrong, they would still get hurt because world is not fair and sometimes you just have to compromise for your own safety. But what is really messed up here is how Kurt reacts when Blaine agrees with Burt. Blaine, who's already rightfully afraid of going due to his own traumatic experience. It's obvious that he would rather stay on the down low and just enjoy themselves without drawing unnecessary attention. And didn't Kurt say when asking him that if he was uncomfortable with going they could just go see a movie instead? And Blaine agreed to go and face his own fears to make Kurt happy and instead of trying to make it easier for him, Kurt completely dismisses him when he objects to the outfit and then emotionally manipulates him into going anyway. Because really, the "you can always not go" is guilt tripping at it's finest. People often antagonise Blaine in this relationship and I'm not saying he's perfect but really, neither is Kurt. What Kurt does may be more subtle, but he tends to be neglectful and manipulative. Don't get me wrong, I love him and I don't think he's by any means a bad person but really, we have to acknowledge that he has his flaws and he did have a part in their relationship failing at certain points. And just for the record, I'm still a hardcore Klaine shipper and believe they belong together, they just need to work a bit on their communication
@quirkypurple34 жыл бұрын
there are tons of examples of blaine being subtly manipulative. he gaslights more than anyone in the series. kurt doesn’t have to tone down himself to make blaine more comfortable and told him he doesn’t have to go with him
@midnightsparkle32764 жыл бұрын
juicy peaches ok first of all, do you even know what gaslighting means? Because Blaine never purposely tried to make Kurt question his self worth or sanity. Second, did you even read my comment? This situation is not about Blaine forcing Kurt to tone it down. I don't think there was any other situation throughout the show when he in any way complained about Kurt's clothing. He wasn't trying to tone it down in general, but in this one situation, where he was clearly scared and didn't want to draw any more attention than necessary. Yes, Kurt has the right to dress as he pleases. But Blaine also has the right to feel as safe as possible in an uncomfortable situation. For Kurt to just ignore it is simply selfish. Of course Kurt should stand up for himself, but being in a relationship means comprising, on both sides. From your comment it looks like you just want Blaine to give up whatever he has to for Kurt's happiness. That's the definition of an abusive relationship
@alondraa.35223 жыл бұрын
@@midnightsparkle3276 Kurt wasn’t being selfish at all though. He had been tormented and harassed(and potential sexual assault with the locker room kiss) so he wanted to be able to express himself, because for the first time in a long time he felt free. He told Blaine several times throughout the episode that he didn’t have to go. Kurt shouldn’t have to change himself when he’s been through things too.

@user-ef9pb7xl1c2 жыл бұрын
I agree with everything but it's impossible to criticize Kurt in the context of the relationship because his stans just don't want to listen. Glee is a drama/comedy so people will do really wild, unrealistic, OOC things, but I think what Kurt does here, and his biphobic words in Blame it on the alcohol (even though he should have apologized), make him a more realistic character with flaws. But most glee fans see everything as black and white, so if you criticize Kurt you're a monster. Real people like you, me, and everybody that commented under this video, do much worse than being a little passive aggressive. Kurt is 17 and obviously he will make some mistakes. If the scene was reversed, you already know there would be streams of "Blaine is an abusive asshole who doesn't care about his boyfriend's trauma and well being!!!1!!1" comments 🤷♀️
