She knew how to interpretate every single thing Santana used to do. And Brittana itself is the perfect couple. When they had to breakup, they did, when they had to get back together they did. This couple had the most genuine relationship out of the 3 infamous couples. They cared about eachother since day 1 and went from friends to lovers. Santana never cheated, never lied to her, always made her feel special. she really loved Brittany. Santana always took her side and protected her and supported her. She let her go for her sake even though it hurt Santana. Santana saw Brittany was unhappy and unselfishly gave Brittany the freedom to find happiness but with hopes that Brittany returned to her in the end. Same as Finn did with Rachel when he let her take the train to New York alone in S3. She loved her all the way till season 6 where they got married. However not saying they were always perfect but if you watch all seasons you'll see Brittana had a stronger but more reserved connection then the other 2, thanks to naya and Heather who created this pair in season 1 with their minimal air time. It started because Heather and naya became best friends instantly so the chemistry showed on screen.

The reason this scene is so perfect is the look that Santana gives Brittany, like she really was the best thing that's ever been hers. I mean, before Brittany was hers, she was so mad, and she was such a cold hearted bitch, and only Brittany could make her smile like a child on Christmas morning, and laugh so hard it hurts, and only Brittany could make her love someone so much that she'd go to the ends of the earth for her.
