I'm kind of surprised to see Season 6 ranked as most disliked season. I found it to be really fun and a breath of fresh air after the seemingly neverending slog that was seasons 4 and 5. Yes, some of the plots were completely ridiculous but they were at least ridiculous in an entertaining way.

it's based on acting ability on the actual show, not their personal actions (Mark) or their acting on other shows (Darren on ACS), so it makes sense.

I can’t tell if you’re being passive aggressive or if this is a rhetorical question, but I’m gonna assume it’s a genuine question written in good faith. The reason I don’t like Blaine is because the show spent 4.5 seasons romanticising his abusive relationship, with the fan base still doing that to this day. Which, on a personal note, massively contributed to young queer me not being able to see the signs of abuse and accepting abuse as a natural part of a queer relationship dynamic. Something which I know for a fact also happened to other young queer people at the time. So basically I just don’t like Blaine because he’s abusive. But more specifically I don’t like how the show and audience either ignores or romanticises his abusive behaviour. And more specifically than that I don’t like the fact that this romanticised abusive relationship was basically the only representation young queer people had at the time, nor the fact that it’s still being hailed as amazing representation to this day.

@@LyleTheWaterAquaticGuy I mean I understand not liking him because he became whiny, too impulsive, or too insecure but I have never seen him as abusive. I always felt like the main problem with Blaine was that in the beginning he was not supposed to be a reoccurring character. The original intention was for Blaine to be a older more confident gay character that had already been through what Kurt was experiencing and could help him through a hard time. Kurt was then supposed to go back to McKinley more confident in himself and Blaine Warbler was supposed to disappear. When Teenage Dream became such a massive success the Glee writers immediately saw dollar signs and realized they could not let the character go but they had no real plan for the character after a few episodes. Since they had only considered him as an extension of Kurt (and it was what fans were begging for at the time) they literally made Blaine’s personality Kurt’s boyfriend. Because of this people only remember the things that Blaine did that upset Kurt because Kurt is who the show wanted us to be emotionally invested in. The majority of the show Blaine was encouraging and supportive but when that was happening he became a background character who sang to sell iTunes because that was the real reason the show kept the character in the first place. Sorry for the long rant but I truly feel Blaine, Tina, and Sam were the most misused characters in Glee and I had to let it out. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

@@patticarson864 I mean I do think that Blaine became worse later on (though really I think he was impulsive and annoying from the start with the GAP attack, telling Kurt to confront someone bigger and more dangerous than him, going to Burt about the sex talk etc.) but he was also abusive, which in my mind takes precedent. And it really doesn’t matter if someone doesn’t see him as abusive, in fact that’s kinda the problem. The show normalised and romanticised his behaviour so people didn’t think of it as abusive. But if you look at any definition or explanation of abuse, definitionally he was abusive. Guilt tripping, gaslighting, isolation, public humiliation, withholding affection, extreme jealousy, sexual assault, etc. He did all of it. So, I totally understand why you don’t see him as abusive (I didn’t either until it was pointed out to me at some point between s3 and s4). But that doesn’t change the fact that he was. I’m sorry if this sounded aggressive. I struggle with tone. There’s nothing wrong with not seeing his behaviour as abusive, since that’s literally the intention behind abuse rhetoric. Glee just did a really good job at convincing people abuse wasn’t abuse (though I’m not necessarily saying that was intentional, I think it’s like just what the writers had been taught). And I don’t really agree with him becoming an extension of Kurt. I personally feel like both of them got boiled down to their relationship (with Kurt getting it worse towards the end). But I can see where you’re coming from. And I do agree that the writers seemed to not know what to do with him, since they didn’t really plan for him to stick around.

@@LyleTheWaterAquaticGuy so what are your thoughts on Santana then. I feel she is guilty of all that with Brittany too. Santana literally got a fake girlfriend and drove to Lima just to make Brittany jealous and intimidate Sam into breaking up with her. She also blamed Brittany for their breakup in later seasons even though it was her idea. Not to mention the fact she emotionally manipulated Brittany into believing it was fine to cheat on Artie and then made Artie look like the bad guy in the end. I am fine with you calling Blaine abusive as long as you see the abusive side of everyone else on the show too

I have to agree with the Blaine hate. I liked him in season 2 but it was all downhill from there. I mean, I hated literally every Glee character at one point or another, but I found Blaine to be incredibly boring. (I'm not attacking you, everyone can have their own opinions of course.)
