So let’s get this straight. One of the best singers of the twentieth century, a chart-topping recording artist, and a world class guitar virtuoso. Then he comes out and tops it all with Scottish bag pipes. Players gonna play.

Beautiful performance ~ Glen Campbell was a Piper for nearly 45 yrs! A few bagpipe purists have told me that he wasn’t a REAL piper. I’ve played for 2 1/2 years, and yes, I can hear that he doesn’t exactly play the ancient “embellishments” (and ONLY those). Yet he has applied modern “ornamentation” beautifully to his Piping. Fine by me.
@easyenetwork20232 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they are likely jealous of his overall talent, which was incredible. How many pipers can sing, play bagpipes and guitar and banjo?

A bag pipe musician once asked me, "How do you get two bagpipes to play in tune? Shoot one of the players." Bagpipe is not an easy instrument!
@susieq98016 жыл бұрын
Charlotte Fairchild - Aw c'mon. They can be tuned. The problem is so many so called pipers don't know how to. Another problem is most people listening don't know the difference and wouldn't know a good piper if they fell over them. Anyway....Do you know the difference between a dead snake on the road and a dead piper on the road? There's skid marks before the snake. Don't blame me for that one. I'm a piper.
@mudskipper00755 жыл бұрын
@@susieq9801 spot on ,.most people don't know what a well tuned set should sound like ,chanter and drones should be in harmony not fighting against each other....
@susieq98015 жыл бұрын
@@mudskipper0075 - As you are obviously aware, that's not only true for a solo piper but if a band isn't tuned spot on to each other the sound waves cancel each other and the volume and tone of the band goes down the tubes. If 5 pipers are tuned together properly, they have more volume and tone than 15 that aren't.
