I come back to this once a week. Glen Campbell is, in my opinion, one of the most well rounded musicians of his generation. This is him at his best. In that initial riff, he clearly has no idea what Stevie's doing, and he just goes with it. Then, he uses his excellent picking skill (the best ever, imo) to add soul to the piece, then that freaking vocal. His voice is perfect. Like he is literally the perfect pop-country tenor. His sound is pure in every imaginable way. He's not flashy, which is why he probably didn't get the recognition he deserves during his prime. But, hot damn if he wouldn't put him up there with any other artist of the 60's and 70's and say that he had as much talent as any of them. Hopefully, once he is released from the suffering he's currently in, people will find videos like this and come to recognize what a genius musician he was.

well said. Sadly Mr. Campbell passed away today 8-8-2017. Hopefully you take will come true. What a treat to say arguably 2 of the great music legends of the 20th century together in this video clip.

Jake, I was a very small child during Glen's variety show. But strangely, I still remember it. But I only knew Glen as just another big star of the day. So, I'm one of those that you just spoke of. For it took JUST NOW at Glen's death for me to start to watch all of these old videos and really understand his playing. I had no idea how great he really was. For I only remembered his songs like "Rhinestone Cowboy" and such. I had NO idea that he played jazz guitar, and the vast diversity of styles that he played.

I remember seeing an interview with Glen Campbell back in the early 90's. The interviewer asked Glen what some of his most memorable moments from his television show were. Glen's first reply was "Singing "Blowin' In The Wind" with Stevie Wonder". This is my first time seeing it. Awesome. Absolutely awesome.

I consider this my all time favorite musical video. It has everything a song could have for this award : hope and longing for peace , soul and folk, black and white , duet, a great melody, great singers , a Dylan composition , wonderful piano and orchestral support and so much love.....Thank you Stevie, Glen and Dylan and those who put this on KZbin.

Nothing like this will ever happen again. You would never get 2 cosmic superstars together like this and honestly these are the 2 most talented singer/musicians to come out of the 60s/70s.Stevie's albums in the 70s were untouchable and after the Wrecking Crew Glen was able to play and sing anything - he was a country singer who ended up with his own All Genre Variety Show - country singers were confined before he crossed the barrier.

Glen is one of the best kept secrets in musical history. My father told me when I was a kid that Glen Campbell was an amazing guitarist. Still to this day I can only find snippets of tunes where he showcases that talent. He can tear it up big time, but for whatever reason, he remaims humble, and unknown for an extreme ability to play the guitar. Someboby needs to put him in the spotlight he seems to avoid..to showcase his talent.

Shawshank the Musical. This is so Great. I love how in the late sixties and seventies there were all these collaborations between styles especially on these American Entertainment shows and so many are on KZbin, I often just randomly think of two singers of the time and search on here and see what comes up, and that's how I found this. You have here the top Country artist and the top Soul artist of their time singing a great 'alternative' anthem of the time, and it just feels so special. RIP Glenn Campbell.

Rarely have two bonified geniuses and musical talents with reputations the stuff of legend been paired together for a performance as special as this. Their collaboration on Dylan's most lasting testament to the brilliance of his own abilities as a songwriter is nothing less than a mind blowing thing to see and hear that borders on the supernatural. Campbell's legendary guitar prowess and pitch perfect vocal range combined with the " Boy Wonder's" other-worldly talents is a gift tro the ages.

A lot of people forget (or don't know) that Glen filled in for Brian Wilson in the Beach Boys when Brian had to quit touring in the mid 60s, so the high-range vocal stuff is his thing. He also played guitar and bass on Pet Sounds.

I am just seeing your question now, long after you asked it. I was a fan of Stevie Wonder from 1963 when he made "Fingertips." And I watched Glen Campbell's TV show every week in the late 1960s. They are both still among my top 20 performers ever of the past 50 years. I remember very well watching this when it happened -- it seemed like such an exotic pairing. To me, growing up in a conservative household, it just seemed like great music -- more about human decency than politics.

Thank you for answering though. I just read an old article about Glen Campbell, written by Tommy Smothers and he comments that Glen would get letters from viewers from the South when he had a black artist on. Glen's standpoint was if someone is talented, he should be on the show, not because of race or politics. Which seems to fit in with how you viewed it at the time. Thanks!

@lumdeloo The only comment would be to see if a consenus would agree to have these two fine musicians sing together once more before Glen slips further into Alzheimer's. I saw his concert recently and he still still has a great voice for one 75 years young (viewing this I knew Steve had pipes, but I had NO idea of Glen's - WOW). Glen was great on the guitar at the recent concert as well. His children definitely inherited their fathers gift of music; quite touching to see them play together.
