oh wow, this was one of my favourite days of my whole life. we went to an afternoon gig in the lobby first and then impromptu followed the lads down to leap. there's me, david, eoghan mac, emma, john all right in front of glen, singing harmony and acting the maggot adding stuff to the hat. i can't believe i'm seeing this - i'm crying. such a special and happy memory.

This popped up in my listings tonight. My comment from 7 years ago when I was looking for anything and everything Glen. Which of course led me to Mic as well. I enjoyed seeing this again tonight so very much and want to thank you again for sharing these vids with us.

Beautiful video, i'd have given anything to be there. Hard to believe Mic passed just two months after this. Thank God someone recorded this :)

Almost 20 years later, this is seems like yesterday. I remember the gig so very well. Jens Uhl, I remember seeing yourself and your wife so often in De Barras and you hosted so many of the great Irish bands over the years. Myself and my husband passed you on a walk two days ago and you apologised for holding us up. It was only after we passed you that I recognised you. I am sorry for not going back to say hello, but I had never introduced myself to you before.

Celine Beurle it is amazing that you remember all this! maybe you saw Glen in the National Library earlier on tonight, he mentioned that he was with us when Philip King rang him to ask if he should do the first Other Voices in Dingle...Glen discussed it with us and was looking for advice whether to do it or not...after the Leap gig Glen and Mic returned with us to our place, very near to where you and your husband overtook me...Normally I overtake other walkers...this was after me walking from our house to the Long Strand, along the beach to the Fish Basket, up to the cross, down to PO and up the hill, abt 9 km which I did 6 times last week. I have to get going again after an operation and not being able to leave house and garden for abt 2 months because of Coronavirus...Walking is nice now around here with so few cars in the road. I guess we wont meet at live gigs for another few months at least, different and strange times...but there will be more online gigs...they are not the same though Glen was brilliant, so was Lisa Hannigan a little while ago! keep up the walking and gig going! Jens x

How sad that was. He was only 31 and he passed away in 2001. So he would have been early 50s now.

it was a reply to watafucup's complaint that he was not told about the gig (with Damien and Lisa inside Connollys as well!!!).I meant that Paddy in Connollys was at times not the best promoter of the fantastic gigs in his fantastic venue.sorry about the grammAr. I thought it was funny.did you enjoy the video?
