I tried this recipe for the no churn ice cream last week, and used some toffee oreos I found at the store! I think the cream from the oreos mixed into the base really well and added a toffee flavor to the base, and the oreo cookies added great texture contrast. Highly recommended!

Used your no churn method over the weekend to make peach ice cream. One peach cut into small pieces and one pureed. Turned out really good and it was super easy. I did have some settling resulting in a thicker, harder, icier layer but not bad for my first attempt. Watching this one I think I didn't whip the cream as well.
@DudeFrom19722 жыл бұрын
Having watched quite a few of these No Churn Ice Cream Recipes I decided to take the plunge and make some myself and the result became quite delicious though I didn't particularly like the smell nor the taste of the condensed milk. As I was making it for myself I decided to divide the batch into two in order to create two variations; one plain without any added flavours and one with some vanilla sugar (a quarter teaspoon) which ended tasting sort of like panna cotta. So all in all I consider my try as a success, however, I encountered two minor problems with the finished product: (1) after a night in the freezer the ice cream became rock hard which made it utterly impossible to use an ice cream scoop. (2) after eating the ice cream I was left with feeling of something sticking to my palate which was a bit unpleasant, however, it did subsided after a while. I'm not discouraged from trying again as the base recipe is so simple and quick to make.

Sealtest (US) used to do a flavor of the month ice cream in the summer when I was a kid. My favorite was plum nut. I wonder if you could roast plums and combine it with toasted almonds and make that into a no churn ice cream. Your thoughts?
@bobbyb77082 жыл бұрын
Why not, try it and let us know!
@elund4082 жыл бұрын
It would probably work well, if you buy fresh plums freeze them which will help break down the cell structure before roasting.
@colleenuchiyama49162 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Just make sure to use prune plums.
@colleenuchiyama49162 жыл бұрын
@@elund408 don’t need to freeze first. They’ll break down perfectly as is, but they have to be prune plums. Or true gage plums, if you can get them.

I made a version of the basic recipe a couple weeks ago using what I had on hand, which was almonds and chocolate chips. I roasted and chopped the almonds and used a tablespoon of vanilla and an eighth of a tablespoon of almond extract. It was deemed a major hit at my house. I think it was a little hard, though, so maybe next time I'll try using Amaretto instead. I also thought of using toasted walnuts (sorry, Glen!) with some maple syrup and a couple tablespoons of bourbon. I think this is turning out to be a dangerous recipe ...
