Have lived just outa Marty for about 8yrs n saw this episode, had never known about Colombo but when i saw that spread decided to take my friend there for lunch, had a chat with the owner n said we were there because of your post, he hadn't seen it so I gave him your site, he sneaked into the little bar area n watched it n it really made his day ... Still a hotel and its gorgeous inside too. I stay there quite often. Close to Wellington, so it's nice weekend break to go out to Martinborough.

Alot of those old buildings are built from Kauri and are about 118 years old or there abouts, my house was built around 1912.

The founder of Martinborough named the streets after places he visited when on a world tour. BTW, the kids thought you were saying “turd” which is slang for poo. The hotel has rooms so you can stay there. Glad you enjoyed your day out.

We stopped at Colombo for my daughter's 21st last year. We were all on bikes. The kids were on those multi people bikes

Loving your vids team. Not sure if you guys are still in the area but if you are and want to try one of the best meat pies in NZ try a beef, jalapeno and cheese pie from fix federation in Lower Hutt. Cameron Harrison is your goto in lower hutt for butchers.

I grew up in martybrah, u wouldn't believe the difference from it in the 1980s till now! It was a sleepy little village then, in fact people would say it was dying. But then they discovered they could grow world class wine.

Hi: we have done our trip around the South Island. This morning we drove from Westport via Nelson / Abel Taiman, Pistons and finished up in Blenheim. The weather was perfect. Did note hundreds apon hundreds of camping places (RV's, Old buses converted and tents). I would recommend New Zealand to explore and visit for a holiday 10/10.

We live in wellington but go over to Martinborough a lot , we have a friend who lives on Venice street . I have never been to Colombo winery , but the platter looked great so we will definitely check it out . I will mention to the German owner that I saw his place on your vlog .
