Well it had to happen sooner or later. Today (12/12/2022) was the first day of automated trash collection in Glendora after being the last manual holdout city on Athens. Despite going automated, the frontloaders that used to do manual were retained, and had their carry cans refitted with curotto cans. I chased a few trucks around today, but I had the most fun seeing Truck 82.
Since many Glendora residents were not used to the abrupt chance in trash collection, many still had manual bins out, put the wrong things in their new bins, or had their new bins placed incorrectly. They had to call out 69 to pick up trash from people who didn't get the memo. Despite the disorder, the driver in Truck 82 showed off their newly learned skills with the Curotto Can mechanism. It even lid flipped a few times, which was fun to see.
Special thanks to the driver for letting me record!
