Groot 2619: Mack LEU613 Heil Odyssey Curotto With a Super Cool Driver Flipping Lids!

I’m sure by now you guys are all familiar with one of Groot Elgin’s coolest drivers, Joe. Yes, this is the same driver who has hopper videos of his old side loader on his channel ( / xjoecomptonx . Unfortunately, the McNeilus side loaders that he has videos of were sent away a number of years ago, but the Heil’s are still alive and well. Joe has driven just about every kind of truck at that shop that I can think of, and he’s really a pro’s pro. The first day I caught up with him he was almost done with his portion of the route, and he said he was going slower than usual that day...yet still flipping lids. Seriously, this has got to be one of the fastest Curotto’s I’ve ever filmed from Groot, if not the fastest ever. Part of why he was going slower was because there was an air pocket in the load (shoutout to Amazon for all the cardboard), and if it wasn’t there he could’ve probably packed another ton or two. The second time I saw him a week later, he was about halfway through his route on a pretty rainy and dreary morning. I was super glad I got to see him, since this is their only Mack Odyssey that’s not CNrG, although they do have one other truck (2616) that’s a Mack Freedom, and their only Freedom.

Awesome work, this is one of the best Curotto videos I’ve seen in a while. The LEU looks really nice in Groot’s colors and it was cool to see some blue bleeding through. Joe is one of the best Curotto drivers I’ve seen. Major props to him and you for filming in the rain too!

Trains are actually very neat! I’ve liked garbage trucks for quite a while, it’s so cool being able to do what I have. Not many people pay much attention to them but u find them quite fascinating!!

Fun video! That's one quick arm and Joe runs the truck very nicely. Looks like it definitely needs a tag axle though haha. I love how there's still little traces of Republic blue on the body and cab - a nice little reminder of the truck's origins lol. 10:44 - that was sick. Got sooo many skillful Curotto drivers out there! Really feel like Curottos are the best trucks for your area. Great job I know a few people who will enjoy this vid so I'll be sure to send that to them!

Thanks man! It sure was quick, Joe is definitely a pro behind the wheel. It sure does, although I think this truck has a shorter wheelbase than most of their other trucks for some reason. Definitely is cool to see the republic blue too! That sure was a pretty neat maneuver, he’s got lots of tricks up his sleeve! Curottos do work very well, it’s hard for me to imagine there being much else around here. Glad you liked it, and thanks for helping promote the video haha!
