Hi Jason, got a bottle of this GD few months ago. Initially felt it a bit harsh, but after some time drinking, now it’s getting so yummy!

My faveorite by far at this time is the KAVALAN SOLIST PORT SINGLE CASK STRENGTH but much more expensive as usual!

Bought it for €64. Also have that GA still to open. Bought the GD to taste a GD finished in Port, since I never had a GD port finished as the former 18 became so rare. The Tomatin is also on my shelf and getting better with time. My favorite is the Glenmorangie 14 Quinta Ruban.

Kilchoman has a fully port matured expression. Also there is a discontinued one from Benriach. 17 yo Solstice second edition. Heavily peated, port finish.

I really liked the GLENMORANGIE Quinta Ruban 12 yo. It’s very fruity, (sometimes I get peaches). I wish I had bought a case of it before it was replaced by the 14 yo. It was cheap too - just $50-60. Thanks again Jason.

Two port finishes I have experienced are: 1. High West MidWinter Night's Dram (very good rye whisky and I don't like rye) 2. Kilchoman Ruby Port Finish Cask Strength Single Cask. ( I worship the ground that Kilchoman grows barley on....so maybe a slight bias but it is really quite fantastic....peated fruit bomb....win win win....)

Arran's port finish was unique, but I haven't tried it in at least 5 years.

I love Tawny Port and I love whiskies that are finished in port casks. Angel's Envy Bourbon, Balvenie 21 are just superb. Are there any whiskies that are completely matured in ex port casks..?

Excuse me, for GlenDronach Port Wood, does anyone knows that the difference between 2019 one and 2020 one? I just know the 2019 one has showed 10years on the label, and the 2020 one doesn't have any description of year-old. But I don't know what the exact year-old of 2020 one, also it doesn't show any cask description. What makes their label so different?
