I know the feeling Tom. Left my phone in a train in Poland and thankfully got it back - the kind train people brought it on the next train back to where I was. Then I left it in a taxi in Budapest, but they keep record of who they had driving with them and was easy to connect with same taxi driver. Terrible feeling. Yes you definitely feel like an idiot.
