Thank you for reviewing the Glenfarclas 30 yo so that many of us could enjoy it at least vicariously.

Sounds wonderful, Alan! You took one for the team! I can get this for the price of four Glendronach 18’s. But hey, I already have four Glendronach 18’s so... 😀 If you compare this with Glengoyne 30, HP 30 and Balvenie 30 it is quite cheap ;)

Sounds delicious, Alan! Your description makes it almost irresistible!! I was thinking of getting an older Glenfarclas some day... Even though Glenfarclas gives good value for the money, it's still a heavy trigger to pull on the 21... Still thinking about it!

Relative to some other 30 year olds, like the Glengoyne, it is actually pretty good value, but that doesn't mean it is worth it. If people have that amount of spare cash sitting around that they can afford it without it being a burden then fair play to them. Personally I would be too busy thinking I had gone mad spending that on a bottle of whisky to really enjoy it. I'd stick to the 25 as well, which is surprisingly good value for the age.

Excellent series of reviews Alan, I can see that the Glenfarclas 30 and older could be a stretch in the value for money. My cut off would be the Glenfarclas 25 at $192, but it would be interesting to try their older expressions. Cheers to the best drams!

Great review I am working my way through your back catalogue of videos I really enjoy glenfarclas but unsure whether to pull the trigger on the 30 year old Just picked up the 25 yo for £99 and am really enjoying it Is the 30 yo worth the extra? Stretch too far as you say

Very cool Alan, it's unfortunate that law of diminishing returns when coming to extremely aged whisky. - Patrick

I probably wouldn’t pay the money for the 30 year old either Alan. Glenfarclas easily has one of the best priced 25’s though so that one is a no brainer if you’ve ever wanted to try a 25 and not spend $250.00+. A great run through of the Glenfarclas’s though. Time for some Canadian Rye ;)

On this one Alan, you almost had me wanting to eat a pie, listening to your description. Does sound like the values are in the lower year releases. Lookin forward to that final recap video for your Glenfarclas rundown. On another note, it's National Bourbon Heritage Month over here in the colonies. Think it's time for a couple more bourbon reviews to help us Yanks celebrate! Cheers All!
