The 17 years being one of my favorite , I had a good laugh when The Grand Master said ''''' Just what the Doctor ordered '''' The last time Hhorst used this colorful metaphor is in the Mannochmore 25 years old review. I strongly invite you to look at it ! It's great !

I have the 25 year, which runs around $170 around here. It's good - My second favorite scotch, right behind Arran 18 year. I know you love the 25 year Glenfarclas as well, based on your older reviews. I can't imagine 5 more years in the barrel would justify the jump in price or be all that different in quality & taste. That's what I need to tell myself anyway, because I wouldn't pay more than $300 for any bottle of Scotch or Bourbon (maybe as a gift, but not for me to drink).

Do you prefer Irish or Scottish whiskey?

It depends on your own preferences. There are good malts from both countries, but Irish Whiskey tends to be more lightly and Scottish Whisky has a wide variety of different tastes.
