THE DISTILLERY
Founded in 1886 by William Grant, situated in Dufftown, Speyside, Highland of Scotland. Owned by William Grant & Sons. It is one of the few Independent Private Family owned distilleries. Also the first distillery in Scotland to open visitors center in 1969 and the biggest single malt producer from the 1960’s to 2014.
THIS WHISKY
A 19 year old Single Malt launched in honour of the Portugese explorers of the 15th century. The 3 Age of Discovery 19 year old whiskies are the only 19 year old Glenfiddich whiskies. It is also a limited release originally only for Travel Retail Market. Finished in Madeira fortified sweet wine casks sourced from a family owned madeira wine company established in 1850 in Portugal.

Figs, orange marmalade, gooseberries, ripe grapes, pineapple, chocolate, vanilla, invitation to take a sip
TASTE
Rich & spicy, cinnamon, pepper, caramelized fruits, crystallized ginger, raisins, silky smooth, complex, vanilla, very spicy, chocolate
FINISH
Dry, not a long finish, hint of chocolate, bitter marmalade, spiciness remain
WITH WATER: Nose: even more pleasant & fruity Taste: less spicy
SUMMARY: fruit and ginger chocolate
COMMENT: this is a nosing whisky
