I enjoy this one Jon. Thanks for the review, well done!

Interesting expression of glenfiddich! I’m enjoying my bowmore right now, it’s a nice balance of light-medium smoke, complex citrus and a touch of sherry fruit and sweetness.
@WhiskyNeighbour4 жыл бұрын
That sounds fantastic. I have picked up smoke and citrus, but I don't recall a lot of Sherry. Might need to consider it again. Thanks for sharing.

Great review, I might have to pickup the XX, I’ve been eyeing it for a couple years too. Sadly my beloved Glendiddich 15 jumped in price at the BC liquor store from $75 to $105. The XX is looking a lot more attractive now.

No doubt! Prices on both are still OK in AB, but I am sure they will go up soon too! This is tasty, but certainly more spice and less fruit than the 15 for me.

Awesome review Jon.... I have always thought about getting this but then always back out at the last second. What is the most you would spend on this?
@WhiskyNeighbour4 жыл бұрын
I picked this up for 50 USD, and would probably go 60 or 65 USD. Not higher. It clearly has some youth to it. Tasty though!

I haven't had any Glenfiddich for such a long time, which I need to rectify when I can see a deal. Cheers Jon.

I could see this bottle being a bit of a love/hate. It has some clear Glenfiddich roots, but it is also quite different than their core range IMO.

Thanks Jon...Canada's ambassador (Beth Havers) contributed the port part to the "20"......had the pleasure of trying some of the experimental series at one of her tastings. Personally, I preferred the Fire and Ice. I say again, I like these twofer review formats.... cause everything is relative.

Interesting. Recently a store owner was telling me how much he enjoyed the Fire and Ice. I did not take to it as much as I wanted to. This, is good for me. As always, personal palate! Thanks for watching!

this is one of my favourites Glenfiddich releases, here in BC it is hard to find, only a few stores have it and typically for $99.

A good dram. To bad about the price. I ha e seen it in two different stores for $70 to $75 here. Certainly worth that!

Thanks Jon. I've shied away from their experimental series, but I might give this a try. If you take any suggestions, I was wondering if you'd take a look at Cardhu 12. I'm enjoying it as I'm watching this video. It has an unusual history in that it was a distillery run by women. Not strange now, but certainly for the 19th century. A lot of their output goes into Johnnie Walker, but it's quite commonly found here in Ontario as a single malt.

I will keep an eye out for a bottle. I had Cardhu 12 about 4 years ago. I enjoyed it, but did not take good notes. How do you find it?
@davidbroughall37824 жыл бұрын
@@WhiskyNeighbour It's a really nice Speyside, malty and mildly sweet on the nose and palate, but finishes dry with a distinct wood flavor. Pleasant but distinct.

@@WhiskyNeighbour It certainly is, though I find it strange that it took me so long to discover what turns out to be one of the most popular single malts in the world.

@@davidbroughall3782 I would do more research if I get a bottle, but I vaguely remember this has some significant in Spain? Is it the highest selling single malt in Spain?

Not had this one, probably because of the price and the unknown. Nice review here and at the price you gave Malted Man Cave, may snag one. Would you recommend the indian pale ale? I loved the Fire and Cane.

The IPA was close to the standard Glenfiddich 12 with a slightly creamier mouth feel and a little more lemon. Not dramatically different. This bottle is significantly spicier than the 12 or 15. Very bold.

Jon, an honest excellent review again! Love your perspectives and tone! (Have you ever tried the 15 distiller Edition @ 51%? Very different from the Solera!)

I had this one some time ago, and was not all that impressed with it... Since trying the Glenfiddich 15 Distillery Edition bottled at 51% ABV, no Glenfiddich has ever quite measured up for me, but I liked the 14 aged in ex-bourbon barrels after it had a few months to open up.
@WhiskyNeighbour4 жыл бұрын
I also enjoy the 14 year old, but I would love to try the 15 year Distillery Edition. Sounds exciting. This dram is not bad IMO. Lots going on and a good amount of spice!
