Gog Mclaine I was a soldier once and I guess the importance of a guy like Kyle was that he saved many more lives by eliminating the threat. There is nothing ,that any soldier in a combat situation fear more than coming back alive but without limbs or blind or worst ,paraplegic. This is why Kyle deserves the recognition and respect.

I am disgusted at some of the horrible comments posted here about Chris Kyle. He is more a HERO than any of you will ever be or could ever hope to be. He fought for our country. He sacrificed so much so that those of you that have written such filth could still have the freedom to do so. He was an honorable man and I have felt that from the first interview I ever watched of him down to the honor that was given at his funeral. I did not know him personally but I feel protective of his memory and as long as I have breathe in my body I will not stand for his legagcy being defamed.

oh and if you mean this, you don't care about 911 cause that's why he joined. he wasn't killing for fun or cause he liked it it was his job.

+James Elkins his JOB was to protect his fellow men and brothers from being hurt by savages. I think the movie does good in showing his transformation in how he acted from killing. I don't think you get emotional from killing for fun. Watch the RPG scene with the kid trying to pick it up. Reading the book he talks about how emotional he was in this situation and talks about how close that kid came to actually shooting the rocket. He talked about the kids had and how he watch it through the scope. Then he talked about how hard it was to regroup and look down his scope again due to the tears that accumulated in his eyes. I don't think someone killing for fun would be angered at his fellow man for hyping up him killing a kid and his mother.(his first 2 confirmed kills)

@@jphansen4667 SHUT UP! You disrespectful JP, as in Jaded PRICK P.O.S. He's wasn't a "baby killer"! However, he DID protect his own when those terrorist thugs would send their OWN children out to shoot at them, or try to kill Americans! If ANYONE is or was a "baby killer", it's the parents of the kids that sent them out there to do their own dirty work! Get your facts straight JP!

Mr Beck thank you for your patriotism and your candid display of emotion for an incredible soul. In a day when it isn't ok to publicly show emotion and everyone should be stoic without bias, I applaud those who can allow themselves, if even for a moment, to be swept away with conviction in their ideals. It amazes me how people comment and have absolutely no clue what they are talking about. Who cares what he did or didn't do to Jesse Ventura. Mr. Kyle fought and sacrificed for our country because he was a soldier and soldiers kill their enemies plain and simple. Most of us were not there so we do not have the right to speculate about what happened over there. The media is also full of liars just to let you know. Chris Kyle sacrificed and put his life on the line for our country and for that alone he has my respect. RIP Chris.

I have to say as a 44 y.o. Black woman that hadn't heard much about the SEALs until the Osama Bin Laden mission, I am really impressed, amazed and honored to hear the stories of honor, courage and valor among members of the SEAL teams. I watched the entire Chris Kyle Mem Svc on KZbin; it made me laugh, cry, and feel humbled to watch people talk about a man that they loved and respected. I loved where Taya said that she didn't like people to ROMANTACiZE their relationship. I also loved LtCmdr John Willinick's speech about the man, the myth and the legend, which I only glimpsed watching the movie American Sniper last month. Anyway, I appreciate and support all service men and women in any branch and when their stories are shared it gives further meaning to their lives and actions in ways that are immeasurable.

Marcellis Robinson you are a punk. Glenn is in tears honoring a real hero. Not a footballer, not a basketball, but someone who gave his life so you could spout your bigotry. Isn't this Nation wonderful, that I, and my brothers and sisters fight so that punks like you get the freedom to say what you like? You may be able to choose your speech, but you do NOT get to choose the consequence. I pray that consequence comes down like the Finger of God. +Glenn Beck, we who've served and fought, thank you for honoring one of our own. To the Kyle family, we love you, we pray for you, and we will ALWAYS be here for you. On behalf of all who have fought, we salute you. God Bless. Staff Sergeant Phillip Woolley USA. (Ret.)

Its a shame and an embarrassment to know that i share my country with these people that bash the men and women who have given more than most, it says alot about you cowards who have only seen movies about war or have played video games depicting war what gives you the right to wish hell upon a man who did save so many in order to come home and get killed helping others. I will tell you who fought for your right to talk shit. Men and women like Chris kyle.

you know , it doesn't take much to speak your mind , were in America the first amendment gives you the right to free speech and I respect that , but to say something so morally wrong and fight to prove it is by far the most ignorant thing , when I joined the navy I said a sailors creed that apply to all sailors specwar to the undez we are all united In a fraternity. Now to curse the name of a man that has allowed you the right to free speech is belittling the men who fell. I cant say what happened. But Jesse Ventura was wrong in claiming the money , because the suit was for defamation, and to go after the wife. Now I saw some guy say Chris was not honorable. Sir you are wrong, what vantura was wrong. So please never speak about falls soldiers that way again.

To Glenn's credit, he's very good at manipulating his audience with fake emotion. That gift ( from God? ) is what enables him to make millions as an entertainer.. "this is an very important book in American history" It takes a mediocre mind to say something like that. But when you think about it, American Sniper is only the type of book that Glenn's audience likes to read, and almost all of his audience members are average shlubs who don't know any better. The kind of shlubs who voted for Wallace in 1968, Reagan in 1980, and Bush in 2000. The type of shlubs who celebrate the killer of 160 people as some sort of hero. We are a nation of stupid people.

Marcellis Robinson Apples to oranges, in Fallujah he laid cover for advancing marines stopping many attacks on those units. Unlike infantry units a sniper can clearly positively identify enemy targets. He did his job well and that was to protect US military units.

AngryPuppetGamer If you really believe your last post, then you're living in a fantasy world. It doesn't surprise me that you believe as you do, since Clint Eastwood spins a good yarn. Kyle appointed himself as the judge, jury, and executioner, but he must have made many mistakes in judgement. In the movies our heros are flawless. In reality Kyle was only human. And the people he mistakenly killed were murder victims. Here's a question you never ask yourself: What is the U.S. doing in Iraq in the 1st place? Why is the U.S. so addicted to war? Guys like Glenn Beck don't want you asking yourself questions like that.

I've got a problem deifying this guy. Kyle is a master marketer. The book is an autobiography...he wrote it which in itself is self-serving! Of course this Jesse Ventura controversy is going to amp up book sales. Then he is always wearing his Craft International hat for TV appearances...yet more marketing. Kyle seems very much about the money. I don't buy humility act nor the Ventura story either. In addition to all the other evidence that undermined Kyle's credibility, it makes no darned sense that there is no evidence of Ventura making same comment in other instances and that he had only done so the one time at the wake for a dead Seal. The wife was unjustly awarded as a result of her deceased husband's lying. It's certainly her right to appeal but let's see if she actually follows through and if she does what kind of luck she has with it.

+M Rhodes This whole post is stupid. You obviously didn't read the prolog, in which he states he is uncomfortable writing this book, but wanted to write it so his buddies would be recognized. It wasn't about him. It was never...about him. OR the money.

Glenn Beck is a senseless egomanic. Patting HIM on the back? Coming up to HIM? HIS security???? Was it a little attention getting event for him? Come on, if you have ANY sense of humility you report on the honor of that hero, and not talk about what people told YOU or your "security", like you need it, then again you just might..This was not about you at all Glenn Beck, it was about a great hero and his family, not you...Shame..

Oh man, this video just made me throw up a little in my mouth... Holy Moses this Beck dude is bat shit! I am not at all in Ventura's camp - he is also pretty whacky, but Kyle definitely lost me when his lie was exposed. That kinda hurt actually, because I really believed the guy. I appreciate his service to our country, but from what I've heard his passion for killing people, abroad as well as here at home, was kinda creepy - even though understandable from a psychological perspective - others get PTSD, he just submitted to the animal within, which made him even more effective. He was a very well trained and, without a doubt, an efficient and talented killer that just happened to be on the "right" side of history. That's why he is celebrated as a hero by us, and shunned a mass murderer by others. RIP.

This is Sick Shame on you all arrogant, the man loved killing... He only gave less than 105 of the profits and a proven lire, not a hero. made the story about Ventura. An then he said him an his mates went down to New Orleans after Katrina and was poping shots at people shot 2 blokes who tried to rob him.. Was on the roof of the super bowle taking shots... Come on he was a Lyer the movie is a propaganda, a man who loved killing the people who he was sent to liberate,

Regardless of what you think of Mr. Kyle's skill as a sniper, or the Iraq war in general, the unfortunate reality is that he has been exposed as a serial liar, peddling outrageous (and frankly, dumb) myths about himself as a means of shameless self-promotion. From the mythical Ventura decking, to being hired to snipe looters after Katrina, to wasting 2 armed robbers at a Texas gas station, Chris Kyle was actively engaged in the deception he felt necessary to burnish his status as a legendary hero. These are not the actions of an honorable man. Does that mean he wasn't an excellent soldier, a good father or a terrific friend? No! But it does mean that while his admirers may blame the "liberal media", bitter anti-war types or jealous civilians for these revelations, the truth is that Chris Kyle's actions alone are to blame for besmirching what otherwise would've been an exemplary reputation.

I hear ya. As an Iraq War veteran (and still serving), I have to listen to both sides. As much as I disdain the left, the right is wrong many times as well. Furthermore, many "Type A" personalities tend to aggrandize themselves, and that's unfortunate. He seemed to be a great sailor. I'm sure he was. But when a story is to be told, all the facts (truth), should be brought forth. I watch FoxNews often. But, Glenn Beck, Bill O'reilly, and others need to share all the truth. Not just pick and choose. As do so many liberal news outlets.
