Yes it was & she has a great body of work...not just in drama. She does a great job in BACK IN ACTION with Cameron, & Jamie which is an Action Comedy of sorts. Like her & so many other great actresses need to get their flowers while they are still here. 💐

Nah. The alternate ending was more in line with the character and gave her and the film more depth, as it served as a leitmotif of the connection she felt with Cio-Cio San in Madame Butterfly. The scene that ended up in the theatrical release was done for commercial reasons, and I found it to be cheesy and predictable.

You really shouldn't be doing stuff like that. It might be frowned upon. Imagine if you spotted a guy stealthily placing cheeseburgers into a public buffet: you don't know if they're laced with ground glass or cyanide, LOL. Plus, that's just odd behavior in general.

@@TheAutisticrats You could have a certificate from Le Cordon Bleu for all I know. But that's not the point. Look at it objecitvely from the POV of a guest who has just been told that one item they've been eating was smuggled in without permission. I wager their delight about discovering corn dogs might just dwindle. But, never mind.... I don't want to bicker about something so silly.

Came away from seeing FA for the first time in the theater in Fall 1987 absolutely convinced Glenn was a shoo-in for every possible acting award in existence. Cher’s performance in Moonstruck “better” than Glenn’s performance according to the Academy voters?!? What?!?
@GiftSparks

Cher actually earned the Oscar for her performance in Mask , but since she didn’t win that year they gave it to her for Moonstruck, which wasn’t a great movie. Glenn really deserved it.
@eduardo_corrochio
@eduardo_corrochio 9 күн бұрын
@@GiftSparks Moonstruck is terrific stuff, but its subject matter, schmaltzy romance in Brooklyn, might be looked down on by some cinephiles. Cher's work in it is stellar but it's such a different role than Alex Forrest..
@GiftSparks
@GiftSparks 9 күн бұрын
@@eduardo_corrochio I have a real soft spot for Mask and Cher’s performance. If you ever see interviews with the real-life person she was playing (Rusty Dennis), Cher does an incredible job of acting like her. It is all the more impressive since she didn’t have to. I mean, Rusty Dennis wasn’t a famous person, so no one would know. But Cher had a lot of integrity as an actor and it was important to her. Very impressive.

@@GiftSparks I think you’re correct. I didn’t mean to imply that Cher wasn’t terrific in Moonstruck (and Mask), because she was, but her performance is SO totally different than Glenn’s they shouldn’t have even been in the same category. Unlike the Oscars, the GG’s split the best actor/actress into drama and comedy/musical, and Cher definitely deserved winning the latter.

And then she tries to sound wise by throwing in "magnanimous", and using it in the wrong way. She annoys me no end, I have seen one episode of her show (on the wall TV of a doctor's waiting room) and ten minutes was more than I could handle. She is such a suck-up, and acts like she was born last week or is a 13 year old who was suddenly thrown into this hosting gig. All emotions are through the ceiling. She needs a therapist.
