Carson was a class act. He did great interviews, and took this 7yr old seriously as an actress. He could have yukked it up for the crowd, but he didn't. Drew had a tough life after ET but Stephen Speilberg kept an eye on her and she grew up spending time with him and his family through the years. I saw an interview on her show with him - he surprised her for her birthday. The bond between Speilberg and Drew is father/daughter and to this day she still loves him.

@@sweetmisvixen she basically was on her own from age 8. Her mom was busy partying etc. Drew became a drug addict by the time she was 11, by herself at Hollywood parties and hanging with people much older than her. In her late teens she was in rehab and got herself figured out, but went through a lot of stuff in those 10 years. I'm proud of her for coming out stronger and whole. Many child actors don't make it

Her estrangement from her mom started early & the conversation Drew had w/ Johnny gave us insight that the emotional distance.she had w/her mom began @ a very early age. So sad that drinking & drugs became her refuge as a result of that mother / daughter relationship. Happy that Drew found herself & became a great mother to her daughters, a great actor, business woman, talk show host, etc. Her tough childhood gave her the drive & desire to prove the naysayers wrong & has succeeded on so many levels in her life. Kudos to you, Drew!

@ryliel31302 жыл бұрын
@@MsTinkerbelle87 it’s in nobody’s “blood”. She had an unstable home life, and both her parents introduced her to drugs and alchohol. Her father was a violent drunk, and her mom would take her out with her friends late at night, five times a week or more and let her drink and do other bad stuff like that. Because drew would feel anxious before interviews like this, her mom would get her drunk to help her “loosen up” and become more talkative. It was the influence of her parents… I really think drew wouldn’t have gone down such a dark path if she just had more responsible parental figures in her life. Poor thing :( she was SO young…
