I love at 5:55: Gould says when he goes into the recording studio he is inspired to "be expansive," and to "feel levels of things you cannot see." These two characteristics permeate his recordings. The expansiveness and the untouchable transcendence of Gould's work is unparalleled. Praise Gould. Gould is great.

God damn it... I love him so much! As much, if not more, a flawed individual as any of us..., but a genius, and even more importantly, a gentle yet un-afraid soul.

Genial siempre.

I wished I could have this feeling of being able to play any piece of Bach as he did.

What a genius Gould was! Particularly, I love what he says in the end! (About performing any known piece from a different point of view, that’s my goal as well as a future concert pianist)

I have no idea about his personal life how it was. What I sense from his work as a pianist, especially with the Bach music, just he was a pure genius and devotional successor. And still is through his performance.

Then this will interest you, he was almost as eccentric as he was a genius. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHmsnnljp9KdhpY

If you're interested in his intellectual life in his own words, the book The Art o f Glenn Gould, edited by P.L. Robert's, Gould's lifelong friend. Gould is a great authority on his own thinking: totally original. I love it when he cracks himself up and/or corrects himself.

Yes. Little things like this, in my estimation, have a great deal more impact in making him the extraordinary individual he was than many people would accept as valid. Such a physical condition, must, to some extent, influence hearing.

I don't get this genius, genius, genius. It sounds mechanical, unphrased, unfeeling. Why on Earth would the two Bourrés be different tempos? Does he really think dances would slow down and speed up in the middle of a dance? There are so many pianists out there that play Bach wonderfully, Gould did when he was younger, why do people settle for this?

@lourdesm57275 жыл бұрын
Una pena porque, era guapísimo, pero guapísimo.
@daph03075 жыл бұрын
