FDR had made a deal with Stalin in the fight against the nazis to avoid a 'cold war', and Henry Wallace would have honored that deal if the VP nomination wasn't stolen from him in 1944 and given to Truman. After all, 20 million Russians died in WWII, more than all other nations combined, and the USSR was far more interested in rebuilding than expansion or a standoff with the US. But the new MIC just came into its own and the robber barons - I mean corporations- got a new lease on the spigot for the first time since the 1929 crash and the reforms that followed.
