America CAN do something with their vote, they can vote for the only candidate that has proven he is against these wars and for the constitution, Ron Paul 2012!

The Declaration of Independence acknowledges 'all men are created equal', thus citizen and non-citizen alike are entitled to a judge and jury. Shouldn't a Constitutional law professor know this?

Something I don't ever hear mentioned about this practice... why is it really being done? what is the purpose of assassinating rather than allowing for a trial (and not only this man)? Has anyone considered the possibility that a trial with testimony might incriminate the "wrong" people and that is why it's not an option?

It's not a question of whether or not he deserved it! That's not an option. It's not right to murder anyone... ANYONE! With secrecy imminent, do you really think anyone should have the right to murder who they want without law? Without law is what this is. What is this? Martial law?

What's the difference between Bin Laden and Awlaki? Bin Laden's plots were successful and he wasn't american citizen.

@novazee What about Timmothy McVeigh? He did the same and had a day in court. What's so different? One is a muslim and the other a christian.

@rachelgolem Oh, I thought we had the right to due process of law, if we were accused of plotting attacks against other Americans. Keep in mind, like Greenwald said, these were alleged - if we don't have the right to legal defense, what is next?

@saintile Apparently America wasn't kept safe for this particular American.

So this must be an important issue for all US voters to consider in the upcoming elections - on which of these candidates would I like to confer the arbitrary power of ordering my assassination, & who is the least likely to order it? Still, I guess it's all part of keeping us all safe.

Respond to this video... BTW I'm of Maronite heritage (google it..I'm sure u have no idea what that is). I still have family in Lebanon. Because of my job I travel extensively in the Middle East. I've forgotten more about islam that you'll ever know and I'm friends with more muslims than you'll ever meet.

@soccerdude601 BTW, what would really make us safer is ethnic profiling on flights to and from the U.S., strong border security, and severe restriction on muslim immigration to the U.S.

@BjornTuroc Who knows? That's all I'm saying, but you can't go around and be the bully of the world and expect everyone to bow down.

Is there any chance we can put this Greenwald on the same list that Awlaki and Samir were on?

@GruesomeTruth Weak. You failed the 3 rules of debate: 1. Don't be arrogant because when a strong retort comes you lose all credibility. Credibility, like life, is hard to recover once lost. 2. Qualify your statements. Ex. If you said, "I believe al-awlaki is entitled to due process..." you'd be in the clear b/c you didn't state it as fact. 3. Know your facts before opening your mouth. If you open your mouth and state falsehoods as facts, your stock will plummet.

@GruesomeTruth After u rambled on about due process, you'll recall i asked u what process was due al-awlaki and what's the legal authority. Instead of answering the question, you've accused me twice now of wasting my time, as if I need time management advice from you. This means that u either have no answer or u don't want a reasoned debate (probably b/c u have no answer). Instead, like other Leftists, you'd rather be encouraged, validated and complemented by those who think like you.

@soccerdude601 Drones have decimated AQ's top hierarchy. Drones limit AQ's commanders' ability to communicate w/each other. Drones have shut down AQ's training camps, that once operated wide open w/impunity. All because of DEATH FROM ABOVE, so yes, at this stage of the game drones make us safer. BTW, the jihadist cockroaches were left alone and then the first WTC bombing happened in '93, Khobar in '96, Kenya & Tanzania in '98, Cole bombing in 2000, 911, etc,

@GruesomeTruth You've "droned" on ad nauseum about violating due process, the Constitution, etc, as if you're making some profound discussion-ending argument. Your rhetoric might work in a college class full of stoned and impressionable rich kids with Che Guevarra T-shirts, but it comes off as trite to someone a little more knowledgeable. Do you even know what due process is? If so, exactly what process was due al-awlaki in this circumstance and what's the legal authority for your argument?
