I understand completely why La Blackmore doesn't react to La Hughes' messages. Call it a gut feeling, but I've never liked this man. However great a musician he may be. I saw him once in a similar setting like this and I regretted it from opening to encores. It's all about himself, not about us. It's all about making money and milking the Purple cow of the three albums he worked on. There's plenty of bands that keep these songs alive and imo even better than Mister Modest himself. I have never ever seen an artist with his own face that big behind him on the backdrop. A logo or an album cover : fair enough, but it's clear that it's all about himself for this man this way. The saviour of Purple songs, well excuse me ! Trying to scream as high as possible puts him in the same predicament as his long time buddy Coverdale : it's uncalled for. It's ridiculous. I left a Whitesnake show once after two songs exactly for that reason. I completely understand why Blackmore had enough of these two self-infatuated characters.

All about making money? I don't know. It's good to have a steady income and earn it with your talents, but it can't be all about the money. This man is living and breating music. I like Black Country Communion. I don't think he is making a lot of money from that. He wrote an awful lot of songs outside Deep Purple. I think he is just grateful to still be able making music and celebrate that I guess.
