When Maggie says "Glen was beautiful, I'll never love anyone like that again," my heart broke for her. To find a soul mate and love someone is truly a blessing, and maybe even rare these days, and to lose them in such a tragic and heartless way is soul crushing.

It's not as simple as he killed Glenn. It wasn't a gun shot to the head or a stab in the heart. Negan brutalised him in front of his wife and mocked him. Maggie would always remember his death but her last image of Glenn was his eye popped out of his head and meanwhile Negan cracked jokes.

@JJ-zf8ck I agree with you completely they just kind of all vanished never to be seen again except a mention by Frankie that she and some other s-x slaves I mean "wives" moved into Oceanside because they were disgusted that Rick kept that monster in the basement. @absoluteterror9098. Everyone was always trying to kill Negan all the time and he just refused to die because plot armor kept him around for the whisperers stuff as a straight man to contrast Beta and Alpha. This lead Negan to believing he was invincible and thus could do anything he wanted so he did. When he kept not dying despite abusing/enslaving everyone and countless assassination attempts people started worshiping him as a God. As for the cult it makes sense if that it formed. IRL if you saw someone survive dozens of assassination attempts and they just kept walking away without a scratch why not believe that something divine is protecting them? Answer is that in this universe a divine being (the writers) are literally watching out for Negan and protecting him from the consequences of his actions.

I just don’t understand anyone quitting the show whatsoever?? Why?? It was a brilliant show and every Season was great in different ways, and yes while some of the Writing was better in some episodes, that’s always the way with ANY long running TV show!! But at the end of the day, it’s all about Entertainment, and that’s what the Walking Dead did in bucket loads. But to get so obsessive about any TV show in general can’t be a good thing really I think? Just appreciate the show for what it was/ is, a Solid piece of Entertainment and that’s it!!

This scene is beautiful. I love the overwhelming emotions they both showcased. It truly was an outstanding performance from both actors because subtle actions like that are very hard to portray. Personally, I'm glad she didn't forgive him because this is a dark world they live in and what he did is too severe. But I love how they both showed acceptance of the situation and also understanding. The gentle heaviness that filled the atmosphere was there to remind us how much we all loved Glenn and how Negan took that from us. But in a way, the conflict integrated within because it's hard to not feel a tinge of sympathy for him since he's clearly trying to redeem himself and try to prove that he wants to be better. This is why, to this day, The Walking Dead is still my favorite series.

I think Negan as the leader of the Saviors was an overstreched story arc that took way too long. But many things went wrong in later series of the Walking Dead, Negan's arc from the prison cell out back into the main characters was done absolutely well. This is why the Maggie - Negan relationship turned into a so far very promising spinoff.

Its commendable that he is remorseful but it is too little too late, he has tainted his soul beyond repair. The only hail mary he could hope for true redemption would be to sacrifice himself for Maggie in the spinoff, that would redeem him, but the price is indeed ultimate. I can see it now, laying there dying having saved Maggie, as she tells him she finally forgives him. That would be a worthy arc.

Negan's story isn't one of redemption. It's of repentance and repenting for the horrific things he has done. He knows that he is beyond redemption and he knows his soul is beyond saving. But the least he can do is try to make things better for others with whatever time he has left. It's very similar to Endeavor's story from My Hero Academia. He knows he will never be forgiven for putting his family through what he did. But the least he can do is acknowledge his mistakes and own up to them. Negan is very similar.

I really hope in the Maggie and negan show they eventually meet back up with Rick after all these years. The last time Rick spoke with negan there was still so much tension and hatred towards each other so for Rick to find out just how much negan has changed and how he saved Hershel and Judith could create some powerful dialogue. Eventually they would bring up Carl and it would be very heartwarming to see them connect like that. I know it’s far fetched, but a great idea for a final shot in the series would be like the dream sequence in s7e01. The only difference would be that Glenn and Abraham aren’t around to see it but a world where everyone learned to live together became a reality.

The thing about Negan that does not make sense is that the writers are looking over some really bad stuff he has done, that had nothing to do with protecting his own. You can't just unwrite that. Instead of them trying to justify him, they should have handled him as he was. Bro literally took his men's wifes in a harem bro, what part of that was about protecting his own. It blows my mind that anyone that watched Glenn's death can justify it or say that Negan was justified. Sure you can make a case for Negan executing someone from Rick's group as retaliation. I will sort of give you that. But thats not what haunts Maggie or what makes Negan "irredeemable". It was the psychological torture. And most importantly how much Negan enjoyed not killing but MAMING Glenn, bashing his head in until he was a pile of meat and bones while his pregnant wife watched and Negan laughed. Thats what haunts Maggie and theres no justification for it. And lets be real here, the whole "well the group killed those men that also had families!" as if Negan gave a shit about any of his men or their families.

On one hand, Dead City was an interesting watch, but on the other hand this was the perfect way to close the chapter between Negan and Maggie. Maggie acknowledges Negan is trying and has earned his place amongst the group, but the wound will forever be fresh. This was a mature response from Maggie, and it took a lot of willpower to speak to her husband's killer in such a calm fashion. Glenn would be proud.

For it to even get to the point where this happens is unbelievable. And it's totally realistic for Maggie to not forgive Negan...I think basically nobody would. Not only did he kill Glenn, he whacked Glenn on the head so hard his eye popped out and he was kneeling there just suffering...and only after mocking him some more did he brutally beat his head to mush. If someone killed one of my loved ones like this, especially in front of me, that person would be my eternal enemy and I would forever want revenge.

I adore Maggie's actor. She embodies the love for Glenn and her family in a real way. I know my husband is the most beautiful person in the world. To think of his last moments in pain, crying for me, while his tormentor mocks our pain, is tragic. The beauty of the love she portrays has made me appreciate the love I have for my own partner. Should we all experience that kind of love... i think no one would ever want to break a heart again if they knew how it feels.

Nobody in the group has demonstrated the savagery or evil that Negan has. I can't ever see him doing more good than bad, but that's why he's an interesting and complex character. Is redemption possible for him? Does he even deserve it? Maybe. It's up to each individual to decide that. Personally, I think the only way he can redeem himself is if he gave his life for Maggie or her son. He denied Glenn seeing his boy grow up, Negan shouldn't get that privilege while also being "redeemed." The moment you become a good person is the moment you're fully subject to the cruelties of this world.

They denied us the closure of Negan’s death at the hands of Rick. Yes, Jeffrey is a phenomenal actor but allowing him to live went against the narrative of the show, and Rick’s repeated promise “I’m going to kill you, not today, maybe not tomorrow” which spooked the hell out of Negan yet it never happened. If they wanted more of Jeffrey then they should have made a spin-off of Negan’s rise to power. The death of Carl was also unnecessary, and a spin-off of him as an adult exploring the wider new world would have been cool, especially if down the line he put on a policeman’s uniform like his dad before the apocalypse.

The main cast of the show have killed countless people, many shows have people that have done unthinkable things be redeemed or at least try to be. The Walking Dead is a fictional show, Negan being a better person now makes for more enjoyable television, it doesn’t need to be 100% realistic, it’s a show about Zombies. I still think the biggest mistake this show made was setting up a premise for the governor as redeemable, yet Neagan as irredeemable. The governor was the family man with love for his daughter, who cared about people yet let his own pride and joy in killing to reap massive rewards and spoils of raids to corrupt him-and unable to find a way back. Seems to me like it is more possible for him to find his old self rather than a sadistic man who literally psychologically breaks everyone for his control over them in a structure that promotes their only way to exist is to serve him. Why in the actual fuck would Neagan find some revelation or change if heart for his actions over the years is still kind of beyond me.
