I love comparing your unique Australian cars to our American models. Your HJ Kingswood could be easily confused with our 1971 Impala, especially from the front end. I bet the same GM team styled both cars. The rear of the HK reminds me of our early-70s Oldsmobiles, or perhaps the Monte Carlo. Shows there are only so many designs one company produces, even across oceans! And we also had a Kingswood, Chevy used the name on our Impala and Caprice station wagons from 1969 through 1972. Cheers, Bill H.

Also the impalas were 2 foot longer

@@randomdude4669 Everything in America was bigger. Gas was 29 cents a gallon back in 1971 , no one worried that their car got 6 mpg in the city..

I'd like to hear Dave give tips on where to actually start when wanting to do a resto or a build-up.
@5lcalais13 жыл бұрын
Its not hard 1st step is literally figure what u want to do to the car 2nd is strip it to a bare shell, bag n label everything that's reusable/restorable e.g. chrome trims etc. then make a list of everything u need/want in the car, 3. Get shell n chassis blasted or acid dipped, 4 fix all the rust u will inevitably find 🤣 and so on and so forth. Way I see it the order u build a car is as follows 1 body n fab work, 2 paint n panel, 3 wiring 4 interior 5 engine n driveline 6 well there is no 6 👍🤣

@GlennEverittMasterofMachines4 жыл бұрын
To my knowledge, Dave uses my friends Frazer and Shelle at Alfa Motorsport Fibreglass in Vic, not sure about steel variants though.
@JubileeValence4 жыл бұрын
I googled 4 speed shift patterns in case of possible reverse gate pattern and realized you blokes are natural interceptors while we yanks run away with it. We start right hand on stick up and close then hard back and in close for the first chirp of flight. Then it's away and up for the speed range and finally back in and away for top end flight. So if I tossed a beer can at you on the side of the road you're lefty up and away followed by back and away for the chirp then you're up and now your stick is in close as you're catching me followed by the slam back and in next to you as you rip off my bumper. Seems more natural. Aw'right time for another cold one. Cheers!

Generally worth more in factory stock condition these days but the owners aren't worried about resale, more so having what they want in a car.

Australia should have protected its own motor industry as they used to. When imports were banned. South Africa had similar laws in the 70s. Kept people in work.
