Just think, Whitney was only 20 when she performed this on the Merv Griffin Show back in 1983. Glennis was twice her age when she performed this Tribute in 2018 & then sang 28 more of Whitney's Hits. The entire concert was phenomenally performed in the style of Whitney Houston!

Welll, i am from the Netherlands, a tiny dot on te world map. Even smaller than most of many states in the US. i would like to call Glennis the voice of the Netherlands. Whitney was THE VOICE. All out over the world. Now we have Glennis. Every time i hear her singing, she brings back that sparkle that Whitney had. And i am very grateful for that.

Glennis is the biggest! Every time I listen to this, I am deeply impressed. My interest has always been for classically trained singers. Glennis shows that this is completely unjustified. I know she's the only one that can really cover Whitney songs well but at this point when she sings she's just Glennis Grace, a great vocalist. I am hoping she'll record You Light up my Life that Whitney recorded right before she started to lose her voice and it was beautiful and I think one of her lesser known songs. Glennis sings this with her own voice. Her voice is very similar to that of WH. If you have many songs, which she sings in her own language, you just hear the same voice. Glennis also sings a lot of songs from others than WH, here you can also hear her own voice.

He already did!! This is from the performance on the Merv Griff show! That was what you heard b4 she started singing (Merv introducing her)!! Glennis watched that performance (not as much as I did) and studied it HARD like she was supposed to! She knew better than to sing Home @ a Whitney show and NOT sing it like this (come on now!)! However, you need to check out Stephanie Mills, She played the role of Dorothy in the Broadway Version of the "Wiz" in 1975 and "Home" was her signature song before Dianna Ross and before Whitney. Stephanie never received the accolades she deserved. Just watch her take the Apollo audience to church and I think you will agree that nobody can touch her. This was a Whitney Tribute, so Glennis did Whitney's version (the 80s Whitney), not her own. Very logical. Glennis does her own songs and covers of other artists in other concerts.

All other singers are forced to make it their own, they have no other option because of insufficient vocal skills! Ms. Grace chooses to stay as close as possible to honour her greatest idol. Search her and you will find a lot of examples in which she makes a song her own. Oh, and it is easy to sing a song just like Whitney did, right?

Although an own interpretation of an original arrangement can be great sometimes but it is often a hit and miss. Like MVE said,Glennis covering in detail the Whitney version of "Home" was a part of her "Whitney Tribute Show" it is not so that she isn't able to do an own interpretation but it was the choice of Glennis and her production team to go for an exact interpretation of the original arrangement. I guess that in the States a tribute means your own freestyle on some classic Whitney songs and in the Netherlands the fans want Glennis to be as close as possible to Whitney on a Whitney tribute.
