***** It's not full of ballads, there are some, but there should be more. By the way, Finland 2010 was happy and catchy, but nothing special. I love the juries' presence, because they are the cause I started being a fan of this contest. Before the juries were introduced (before 2008), most entries were trash. For me, Glennis was the absolute winner of that entire festival. Glennis also released a CD 'My impossible dream'. Listening to this CD is pure enjoyment. But her big breakthrough did not happen. Incomprehensible!

@@Rubii Her big breakthrough came in the Netherlands in 2011. She then participated in the program 'The best singers'. A program where you are supposed to sing songs of the other singers. Glennis then sang the song 'Afscheid'. It immediately became her first number one hit. She was 33 years old at the time. In 1994, when she was just under 16 years old, she won the Soundmixshow with the song 'One moment in Time'. In 2005 she participated, for the Netherlands, in the Eurovision song contest. Her big breakthrough failed to materialize. I met Glennis when she sang at AGT in 2018. I am a fan of classical music. And by coincidence I came across her first contribution to AGT on KZbin. Glennis made a big impression on me with the result that I went to KZbin to find out if she had sung that before. I then found the performance of that song as Glennis sang this in 2017 at the Ladies of Soul. It touched me so deeply that from that moment on I became a fan of hers forever. Never thought that there would be a singer who knows how to fascinate me so immensely, and is not even a classical singer! And Glennis did it!

Can anyone provide the exact lyrics to this song, please? The texts that I've found online don't seem to completely reflect what she's singing. For instance, the lyrics found online read "I've come in from the cold", but she seems to be uttering "I'm coming from the cold" - although even that doesn't make much sense, because it doesn't correlate with the previous line "Can't you see the writings (or: writing's) on the wall" - IF that one is correct, to begin with. The lyrics that I found seem to make this song kind of religious, because the "writing on the wall" alludes on "Mene, mene, tekel Upharsin", and the "drifting apart" looks like breaking the connection to this material world, instead of which an "impossible dream" is being looked for. So, once again, will somebody be kind enough to provide the EXACT lyrics to this marvelous song?
