I LOVE that they talked about going on a family vacation with her ex. I grew up in a split family from the age of 18 months. But my parents were always friends and could talk without screaming at each other. We also spent holidays together so I never had to pick which parent I wanted to see or be shuffled between the two just when I was enjoying my day. We did have some struggles with step parents but they were told to deal. And I’ve been telling people I’m a recovering Catholic for years so I laughed out loud when I heard Abby say that! Love it. I’m a Christian.

I feel very sad & insulted by the the term “ recovering Catholic”- having been an ardent Catholic for 73 years. With due respect, I don’t think you know what you don’t know. And I’m praying for you both that you come to know the Truth in its’ fullness.

It's a good thing that someone with a platform is able to help people find themselves and be who they truly are. I'm fortunate to have lived in a community where acceptance and celebration of people living authentically was part of life. They will always be differences of opinions and views about how people should be and how people should live.

Nothing wrong with interviewing this couple but please ANDREW, stand by your convictions and Biblical truth. This couple obviously stood for what they believe in but why do so many Christian's always kowtow on their Christian principles when faced with opposing views. Also, as a Christian Andrew, please don't sit back and allow the Word of God to be taken out of context or misquoted. Always stand firm on the truth of God's Word. Marriage is ordained by God as a union of one man and one woman. Truth is not simply what is believed (being "true" to yourself). A lie believed is still a lie. LOVE is not affirming someone's sin, LOVE is to share the TRUTH of the Gospel and the love and grace of God! The Bible clearly defines sin and TRUTH is ABSOLUTE and not defined by social consensus.

Really appreciated this video! As a Christian, I found it helpful to hear an outside perspective on the church, and very insightful on how we can better reach the gay community and not shut them out! It is so important as Christians for us to look at our own brokenness before judging the brokenness of others! Our humility and openness to have relationship despite our differences in belief are the greatest demonstration of the Gospel, and I think Andrew and Shawn were very brave in opening up this conversation!☺ Thanks guys!

I will agree with you that as a church, and or just a woman after Gods own heart it is important to reach out to EVERYONE... gay, black, white, Chinese, Straight.... but it’s not okay to bring a gay couple into a podcast that you have considered a christian foundation. If those of us who are believes are growing in his words we know there is no grey... only black and white and we know this is 100% against Gods word... so mixing that with a Christian channel is way too confusing to those who are new believers or unbelievers... hints so many of these comments.

@@hollyfordyce7448 Totally agree with you there on reaching out to everyone I was just speaking more specifically to this video!☺ I agree that supporting gay relationships while being a Christian channel is not right, and by praising or admiring their relationship S and A seemed to be doing this for sure. But if your beliefs are made clear and you still pursue relationship or have conversation with someone who is living in sin, then they can see God's grace and love the best, in that He pursues us even when we are in sin!🤯 You seem to have a very grounded faith and heart for speaking the truth and I admire that, lots of respect!👏 Pray for Shawn and Andrew and the church to have wisdom in "how to act towards outsiders"!💜

Shawn and Andrew I have listened to many of your podcasts and loved some and some not so much. This one I was glad there was a stop button because I didn't feel like the discussion was of God's Biblical Word. As we can all translate the Bible to say what we want it to say. No sin is worse than the other. Most importantly is that you give your life to Christ, confess Him as your Lord and Savior, acknowledge that He died on the Cross to save you from your sins. Then you will be called a child of Gods. We all have to answer to ONE GOD at the end of our lives and He will be the ONE to either welcome us home or ask who we are for He never knew us because we had forsaken Him here on earth. It is black and white.

I agree...though I do think we should have conversations with each other. But you are right - I didn't hear anything that was Biblical. I wanted to say so many times "Do you believe Jesus is the only way?" And then I felt like Jesus was being twisted to fit their beliefs and their feelings. What do they say to the verses that talk about you denying yourself! Yourself! And following Him. And trusting in yourself instead of Jesus is saying you just have Him as a friend and not a Savior. No talk about sin whatsoever. That's what Jesus died for.

@@smdpenguin All we can do is pray for all four of their true salvation, and love them because their truths are not God's words and again their truths are not Biblical either. It has opened up my eyes to a lot though. How much of a strong hold the enemy has on so many people. Truly saddening. As Christians we must stand up for God's true word. Oxymoronic: Jesus and Christianity can be different? How? Christian means follower of Christ! What you guys don't like is the condemnation of sin. Jesus NEVER met a sinner that he healed of forgave that he did not tell them to go and sin no more. You guys love the fact that Jesus went amongst sinners, but you failed to understand why. Jesus was not received by his own, so Jesus went to those who had an ear to hear. The Jews were jealous of Christ because of him having knowledge and abilities given him by the Holy Spirit that they did not have. So, in turn Christ went to those in need of forgiveness and healing that would listen to his message. Christ never appoved of their sins, otherwise he would have left them in them. Jesus called out sin, and had the power to forgive it. Go and sin no more does not sound like his condoning sin. Also, if he came to take away the sins 1Jn. 3:5 why in the world would he have taken that brutal beating just to leave us in sin with his approval? The math ain't mathing. I love you all enough to tell you the truth in the hopes that you will repent before it's everlasting and too late.

Praying for wisdom for you Andrew and Shawn. First and foremost, I'm a sinner every. single. day. I'm thankful for a Savior who forgives and extends grace. But this truly was disappointing to me. You guys have a huge platform. A lot of people look up to you. Please make sure to dive deeper into the Word of God and speak truth. God's truth. Not the "truth" of humans who twist scripture to get themselves off the hook. God is a loving God, but He's also a just God. Just like a parent/child relationship, there are rules set in place that He made for our good. The Bible is crystal clear on homosexuality. Yes, God wants us to love everybody, but sometimes love means having tough conversations with people and holding them accountable. Going out of our comfort zone and shedding light on something we KNOW is wrong according to God's Word. It's not our job to bring them to their knees in repentance and spread judgement. But I do think sharing with them privately what God's word says about marriage between one man and one woman is loving them. Not in the worlds eyes. But in the eyes of our heavenly Father. He wants each one of us to enjoy marriage, enjoy life abundantly and he knows how we can experience that joy because He created us. It's our job as christians to follow HIS desire for marriage and be obedient to HIS definition of a marriage covenant. As a Christian, NO don't treat gays meanly or harshly. But be up front with exactly where you stand in your beliefs and don't stray from the Bible. Stand up for what is right and don't conform to this world. As a huge media influencer, the content you share reaches several ears. Be careful what you condone. Especially If you claim to be christians and share christian content. This video is deceiving to both new and mature christians. We are told to not be a stumbling block for anybody. Your choice of using this couple to "inspire" others is unwise. I'm praying that God will instill wisdom in you to use your platform and voice for His glory and to spread the Gospel, (the hard truths as well.)

@@sallytrued3804 Neither you nor I make the rules. God does and His desire for marriage is stated to be between one man and one woman. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and 1 Timothy 1:10 "Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." "The law is for people who are sexually immoral, or who practice homosexuality, or are slave traders, liars, promise breakers, or who do anything else that contradicts the wholesome teaching." Nobody is perfect, thus why we all need a Savior. But if you or I or anybody else claims to be a Christian, we shouldn't intentionally go out and disobey the Word of God and continue to live in sin. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting"... etc. You're in my prayers. God bless.

So exciting to see God working through Glennon to free Abby’s fear and defiant defense of herself, wounded, pained child of God, and to allow herself to see that she IS love. It would be nice to make it a triangle conversation, including Gods words into this. Because you all have background and experience with the word. I really liked your identity conversation. if i heard it right, there were 2 identity, one you feel and one you present. I gently would like to suggest that God created and loves your true identity. You can sense his discomfort due to his rigid religious background that is imprisoning his spirit and heart and growth. Shawn is light years ahead of him on this issue clearly. I like Andrew but he might need to re think his parents expectations of him and if those rules still apply to him as an adult. Can they still love him if he can fully support a gay couple? As I read these "Christian" comments, I am saddened. These two people, Glennon and Abby do the Lords real work. I am a straight cis gender woman who has family and friends who are LGBTQ+, who never understand the concept of religion and sexuality since we are made In the image of God so how could being gay be a negative thing. I have some moral ideals that I believe are fundamental as humans that does not go with the church’s doctrine, but I can look myself in the mirror at night and go to sleep soundly because I know I am a good, kind person. I resonated so much with what Abby and especially what Glennon had to say. So thank you for making a space for this. Love you guys!!!!

I am so disappointed in this video, I believe you have taken advantage all of all the true followers of Christ , that you have interviewed up until this point. Gods word is God's word , no erasing homesexuality is a sin that separates you from a Holy God. Remember until your last breath that God is so loving that until your last breath you have a chance to repent♥️ , if you get the chance. Love you Shawn and Andrew praying the Lord opens your eyes , He's faithful to forgive you

If God is so loving and accepting you wouldn't have to live your life in fear of sinning and having to repent. He would accept you as you are., as long as you spread love and not hate. you are a good person no matter your sexuality. Also, who wrote "God's words"? How can you be so sure that's God's words?? It was written by people, it's no different than a modern day cult, where a leader of the cult "receives God's words"..

@@mariafilindras8267 what you are saying you can be a murder, be a rapist, cheat , steal, lie , and live under the lie that you are still a good person. Where does this thinking end , be happy and do whatever you want because it feels good. To everything there are boundaries, on the earth, no you can't drive 100 miles in a 25 mile zone , you might hurt someone, or yourself. The world is out of control because of all the lawlessness. Yes God is a loving God He made us a way out of darkness, through His Son . I hope you won't be afraid to ask Him if He is real and ask Him to show Himself to you ♥️ I believe in God because He showed me mercy, when I was living in darkness, I couldn't even recognize myself. We have all went through something dark and found the forgiveness of God. Jesus is always willing to forgive us in an instant. He made you and you are connected to Him whether you like it or not, but one day we will all see him, face to face, and we will all know.

@@Aprilmarielove I agree to some extent with you. I think we both want the same thing we just have different perspectives of seeing it. But I can't believe you're comparing someone's LOVE (for the same gender) with a rapist, a murderer etc. All of the bad acts you mentioned are harming other people. What's the harm with a woman loving another woman or a man loving another man? It's not a choice! Trust me, no homosexual person had an easy start in life. It takes a while for them to accept themselves and if they could change how they feel so they can be "normal" and be attracted to the opposite gender they would. That being said, a lot of the LGBTQ community is or was in a very dark place just like you. I don't know why you were in that dark place but what I do know, it's a horrible place to be in and I am so happy you were able to get out of that with the help of God. Many of us find comfort in something greater than ourselves, and that is partly why organized religion was created. To keep us lawful and comforted. I believe in God and something greater. However, what I do not believe in is the religion created from people when Christianity started forming. You and I were not there and we'll never know the truth. Maybe after we die we'll know, who knows. But what I do believe in is love, love for one another and you can't tell me that religion is not creating a divide with that, because that is a lie. It separates us more than it unites us, when it's actually supposed to be the opposite. Now I'm not telling you to forgive the murderer and the rapist because with that logic we would live in a very scary world. We are all intelligent beings, we can use logic and morals to guide us in choosing what we support and what we do not. I think that's one big problem with any organized religion. We let some words from a couple thousand years ago that were written by then standards dictate how we approach situations today, without using our beautiful minds for critical thinking. I feel the connection with God but I will not let some words written so long ago affect the love I feel for my fellow humans that are trying to live their lives without causing any harm to others. Homosexuals are not doing any of that and no, just because it seems "not normal" and it's disturbing to you mentally does not count as harm. I wish you the best in your journey of life. We have to spread love and not hate to our fellow humans that are trying to live their lives just like you and I. Do good and be happy. Spread LOVE not fear.

I'll just be blunt here.. I am not religious and see the bible as an ancient text. I love my girlfriend just as much as any straight person loves their partner, there is no difference. You expect other people who don't even follow the same religion as you, to live based off of your beliefs? Because they are beliefs. And to expect something like that, is the most selfish, ego centrical mind set a person can have. If marrying someone from the same gender feels wrong to you (which i'm so sorry if that is the case, because there are so many people who live an entire life of depression, repression, and internalised homophobia, and many of those unfortunately end their own lives because of people like you.), don't marry someone of the same gender. But leave everybody else alone and sort out your own lives, be your own damn saviour. How would you feel if someone else wanted you to live based off of their beliefs? The US as founded with a separation between church and state and if you can't accept that, move. And back off of people preaching love and acceptance. You can stand firm on whoever's word you want, but the words that I follow are those of love, not some old book that I don't believe in. There are more religions than yours in this country and in the world, the majority of those following what feels right to them because it is their religion, not everyone else's.

This is sad. I loved watching this podcast but I will have to unsubscribe. This world is twisting verses in the Bible to fit what they want in life. God never changes and His word never changes. It clearly states in scripture that same sex marriage is wrong. I have gay people in my family. I love them dearly but as a Christian I know it’s not right. I’m not perfect, by any means. I have sinned but I try every day to overcome giving into sin. Don’t give in to evil. Turn to God and He will take away all of your struggles. God bless ❤️

You know the bible was written by people and not God? Written by "good" people that were living in completely different times, the same people that would think you as a woman should have no rights. If that's what you think God wants..good luck...

Maria Filindras if you have knowledge of the Bible then you will know that all scripture was inspired by God. God loves all women. In the Bible there are so many examples of this, the woman at the well, the woman caught in the act of adultery, the woman who bled for 12 years and so many more. Those men were the ones telling Jesus’ story on earth. Maria I will be praying for you and hope that you and your family are doing well and staying healthy through these hard times. God bless you ❤️

olivia ellis The comment I made wasn’t at attacking the LGBTQ community. I love each and every one of you all because Jesus loves you. However, Shawn and Andrew are Christians (that’s what they said and that’s why I followed them, to be inspirational to my life and to strengthen my relationship with my husband). I don’t agree with the LGBTQ community because I am a Christian and scripture says that it is not right. I understand that you think the Bible is old and you don’t believe in it. It’s like reading history though. There are so many things that line up with our world today. I put my faith in Him because I know God sent His Son to save this world. I hope that someday it will resonant with you and that you know God loves and cares for you more than you will ever know. Jesus died for you and for me. I am no better than anyone else because we are all equal in His sight. I wish you well and hope that you and your family and friends are doing well during this pandemic 😊

So where is both of your stances on addressing sin?? As believers in christ, yes, we are called to love and show compassion 1 Corinthians Chapter 10:1-32, However, our responsibility as being christians is to also adress sin, but do it in a loving and respectful way, without having to comprimise with the word of God who speaks against on homosexuality, Romans chapter 1:1-32. This is not me hating on gays, I have many friends who are gay, But as a christian; we should always stand in what the word teaches us regardless of how many people will become offended and even hate for sharing the truth; It is one thing to interview the couple to get to know them better and to have a more of a understanding in their perspective, there is nothing wrong with that, however to agree with their mindset and beliefs as being okay to be gay and to state that you are both "faith based" individuals is wrong...

My gay friends already know how I feel about their decision of being gay, so I don't even discuss it with them, their relationships because they have their minds made up already on that matter when it comes to their sexuality (I don't even go there with them); however, I give them opportunities of questions they may have about "Christians" and Christianity or Jesus Christ and let this be an open invitation to sharing the gospel, out of building a relationship with them and allowing the Holy Spirit convict them by doing the rest. This is usually for the person who is a non-believer, if they are "professing Christian" (quoting the Bible and all) and is gay also, the conversation I would have with that person would be different and it's only because as being a Christian one should know better, especially, if they are expressing they know the Bible; Non-believers do not know any better and therefore I cannot judge someone who doesn't know Jesus. But if they are a believer, it is biblical to judge that Christian of the same faith.

I dislike, implicitly, that Abby feels the need to label their marriage as “gay marriage.” Abby and Glennon have a mutually respectful, loving and welcoming/accepting union. They are married: knitted together with the same goal and intention of living all their days with love, generosity of spirit and respect for the individual, exclusive, perfectly imperfect wife they vowed to cherish. What more could God want than to have two of His children thoroughly and completely committed to their vows to love, honor and respect one another? Let’s just leave it there... smash open the box of labeling a marriage as anything other than that. I just love their obvious love.

Kalyn Gibson no. You’re not a messenger, you are telling others what they should believe. If you choose to believe that a bunch of stories written by MEN are the word of God, then you do that. I know my God and He is love. He is always in my life and my heart. I’ll forgive your ignorance as soon as you accept that others’ perspectives aren’t wrong, they’re just different.

In love to eternity with Him...not in fear if hurting people's feelings. Love them enough to speak God's truth in love...these women need to know God has a plan for each of them...this is not it according to the Word of God.
