@@sneakerhead4770 why do those break?
@sneakerhead47702 жыл бұрын
Maurits Buskens it has a valve that is supposed to keep oil inside the turbos when u turn off the vehicle. This valve a very small cheap part fails and let’s the oil drain completely then when u start the vehicle the turbos are dry at first and they wear themselves away little by little until they completely fail between 80k-120k I wanna say. Others attributed it to an oil screen, but essentially the same thing dry starting the turbos. They need lubrication from the moment u turn the car on as they spin at like 20k rpm even in idle

11:50 I disagree that it will depreciate to a “$5,000” car. These are kind of the last of a breed and I feel them still be desirable and not just brought them out to nothing. Obviously made this video years ago and a lot has changed since then but even then I don’t think they would be dirt cheap cars at any point. Yes, they will depreciate more but I think most of the depreciation has already happened and these might be a great fun budget saloon. These can be bought for under 30k now.

It’s a lot of car for that price but keep in mind repairs will be repairs of a 120k car not a 30k car. It will add up fast turbos. Turbos 12k abs module 2k. Pc valve every 2 years lol and like he said water valve 2500. Basically everything that breaks is gonna be 2-3k and up. Ur prob gonna need engine mounts on older used. For both that’s prob 4K or a lil more. It adds up. Pay 30k and have 20k on deck for the repairs.

I loved our X3. The interior was so nice, I cared less if you had a Rolls or anything. Super high quality leather and immaculate wood throughout. But I stared having mechanical problems at the 8 year mark. My extended warranty was going to run out at the end of the 9th year and I was quoted $13,000 FOR A ONE YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY. I sold the car and got $9,000. Not bad since I bought it CPO for $29,000 at the three year mark. I now have two Teslas and take care of the battery scrupulously, Only charge to 80% and as a whole do not abuse the cars at all. Just drive them. And they are really fun to drive as they are glued to the road and are fast in a way an IC car cannot be. The power is instantaneous and linear and I never need to put my foot down and the regen braking saves the brakes big time. Probably wont need pads till at least 50,000 miles. Just my two cents. EV's are the future now. Take heed and do not buy another IC engine car. 4

Thanks, Im a subscriber. What a lot of people dont understand is that the electronics are brutally expensive to repair and this becomes an issue when they are older. And you better have an extended warranty or a service contract when this happens. Thats the problem with these beautiful cars like the S8 or X5's. They are incredibly expensive to fix when they are older. Thats why when I wanted an extended warranty from the 10th year on I was quoted a price of $13,000 and for only one year!! The best car I ever had reliability wise was my G35 Infinity. I gave it to my daughter in law when I got my Tesla S. It was 13 years old and had no major mechanical problems. She drove it another year and a half and sold it for $11,000! I only paid $42,000 new. @@GlennsCarCollection

Thank you for your comment. This 2013 Audi S8 was $120k new. I bought it in the $40's and sold it in the $30's. I drove all those miles with a fully loaded car and only lost $10-15k. The first owner lost 90k in depreciation, if I bought a new one for $150k. I would lose $100k in depreciation. I would rather lose $10-15k on a used one and have $80k to spend buying multiple cars.
