You see Chris working on the plane, he is obviously a very skilled mechanic, which in itself is pretty impressive. Then you see him flying the plane, and you realise he is also a very competent pilot. All round, Chris is impressive. I have a man crush. 😁👍Go Chris...

Congrats to Glen and thanks for bringing us along. I know he obviously spoke with Chris about this before the series but still, shout out to Chris for putting up with the whole youtube thing for us. A lot of people - I say this because I am one of these people myself - couldn't deal with being followed around and recorded while working. We appreciate it. (I have no experience flying nor do I follow any channels/webpages about this stuff yet I have been watching the whole series).

Chris is great, and he is a firm believer in the idea that an informed, knowledgable pilot / owner is great for business. So I've watched him over the last 7 months patiently work with and teach owners / customers about their planes and best practices about maintenance. Most of his customers really enjoy being part of the process, and this has allowed him to build a pretty large client base that fly in from airports all over Southern Ontario.

Chris seems like such a great guy! You’re lucky to have someone like that to work on the plane and show you the ropes. Kinda had a feeling he had something up his sleeve for this flight. The plane looks awesome! Congrats!

2 people plus fuel, leaving sub 400# for cargo... really makes me wonder about how many of these you see bopping out of the back country in September with 2 guys, their gear and 2 or 3 moose quarters strapped on... lol.

Rarely been this excited for something!!! EDIT: Regarding the speed, I would recommend you perhaps write your own Normal- and IROP-checklists and add in a table with the speeds that you need (ie Vy, Vx, Vref for flaps 10, 20 etc, Vglide) and then make those speeds knots - IF you’re used to flying in knots! That’s how we learned during CPL training too! I know for me it was always a big paid getting into an aircraft that had MPH in it because it throws off every bit of intuition that I had.
@Kinkajou10152 жыл бұрын
I say have both speeds in Knots and speeds in MPH listed so regardless of how the system is set the numbers are there. Just make sure the paperwork with the numbers is CLEARLY marked so in the event of an emergency you can confirm the correct emergency sheet was grabbed.

Interesting that the plane went into a spin. I fly a later model M cessna and it will not A stall it merely losses 500 feet a min straight ahead and B, to get it to spin you have to get slow, horn blaring and then mash the left rudder and at the same time go full throttle to get it into a spin. Great videos Glen. I really enjoyed the whole series. 👍
@GlensHangar2 жыл бұрын
Chris really had to yank it into that spin,
@niklaspilot2 жыл бұрын
I find the C172 in general doesn’t like to spin. The SP models I fly regularly need full rudder to get in and stay in a spin

Love that Julie was there at the start. That an iPhone 13 mini in blue? It looks pretty. I was not expecting Chris to be the one to do the spin, but it makes sense. Personally I don't think I'd be comfortable in that plane, I need more elbow room, but it looks like a fun adventure regardless.
