I shared this video with my father in law. He loves this kind of thing. He sent a message that he will watch more of your videos. My mother in law sent a comment that she has now lost him for the rest of the day. Maybe the week. Maybe forever.

As much as I enjoy your cooking videos, I SO VERY MUCH enjoy these flying videos. They make me think of my father. My father was a career marine pilot, and from my understanding, flew pretty much everything for a period of years. He flew choppers in Viet Nam, I THINK he might have flown cargo carriers “air buses” at one time, even flew President Johnson once. He would have SO loved these videos of yours. I enjoy flying (passenger) , but have none of my father’s technical knowledge.

I'm not surprised you couldn't make it west. We’ve had a few moments in Winnipeg where the visibility didn’t allow for safe driving, let alone flying.

ugh, spinning of that filter... I spin mine off inside a plastic bag to catch all that overdrip. I did my first east coast run in the high pressure system last week; great fun circumnavigating PEI and NS. Also "fun" getting into Sherbrooke being the only Anglais on frequency. Trenton didn't pass me off to Montreal because they said Montreal wasn't doing flight following; ok fine, then called me back a minute later, said Montreal was gong to make an exception one time for me. 😇
@GlensHangar4 ай бұрын
Chris (my AME) spins it off in a bag - I was going to do that here as well, but it didn't look like I was doing anything. You couldn't see the filter, and if you didn't know what I was doing the shot didn't make sense. I was denied VFR following last week through Montreal at first as well, then they relented and said it would be OK. Ottawa / Montreal are the only places I ever have trouble with that.

Enjoyed the content. My wife and I finally made it to Quebec City in July about 45 minutes ahead of Post Malone. Avjet was crawling with paparazzi and police to the point it was distracting trying to park in front where you pulled up. We had no idea what was going on and kept looking around at cameras poking through the fence and cops everywhere. Once we were informed of the situation and after some casual but obvious prying into our background I had a nice chat with the officers before jumping into an 1.5 hour ride in gridlock to the hotel. What a great city to be grounded for a day or two. Looking forward to heading back. Thanks for posting your trip.

We were there at the beginning of July as well - the music festival in Quebec City is something we go to every summer. The Post Malone show was packed, and they eventually stopped letting people onto the Plains of Abraham. We ended up listening to it from our families rooftop.

@@GlensHangar we took in the show on the wall of the Citadelle. It wasn’t a great view but the sound was amazing. Being a last minute trip we had not followed the music schedule and had no idea of the added bonus. It was a great weekend with a treat being able to shoot an approach due to pesky clouds hanging in the same vicinity where you encountered them.

Are you an AME??? My AME told me I am not allowed to install safety wire. I can do everything else on an oil change except the wire. What were you told?
@GlensHangar4 ай бұрын
I've been told (Canada) that changing the oil is allowed as maintenance that can be done by an owner - safety wire is part of that job. I can do the work and the logbbook entry.

Man, that oil looks dirty! I’m sure you change it on the recommended schedule. Does it always look that black?
@GlensHangar4 ай бұрын
Always looks that dark - apparently a by product of higher temps in an air cooled engine(?). That was even a change at 30 hours of use, the normal schedule is 50 hours. I always send it out for testing, and the lab results on that change came back as 'normal' within range.
@markholm70504 ай бұрын
@@GlensHangar Higher temps, more blow by or both? Car engines used to dirty their oil pretty quickly, but modern car engines keep oil cleaner longer. I’m pretty sure modern car engines have a lot less blow by.

Man, bilingual ATC really sucks for situational awareness of what's going on in the airspace.
@GlensHangar4 ай бұрын
When you are on with ATC (tower, terminal, centre or MF) it’s actually really good. ATC will relay any information pertaining to you and your flight. You get the info you need and the rest can just be background noise. Where it can be dangerous is on the uncontrolled VFR en-route frequency, and at uncontrolled airports where the French pilot may not speak English and the English pilot doesn’t speak French.
