I am in Colorado now and wasn’t impressed with Glenwood Springs at all. Very small, crowded and a lot of traffic. Food everywhere in the mountain towns is blah. I went to the adventure park and it’s very small not impressed by it. Maybe if you have kids they will like it. It was pretty empty. The hot springs were ok only. It’s 70’s but feels like 90 with the blazing sun. If you want the ‘hot tub’ anyway go super early morning or evening when it’s cooler. I ended up canceling my other hot springs experience. I liked Old Colorado city. It had nicer little shops there. There’s a coffee place that’s pretty good and a chocolate factory shop. Bueno Vista I actually liked the most. It’s a small town building up. Nice feel to it. Has a very nice small downtown and has an ice cream shop with some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. And there’s a park right there that has a nice trail by the river. The best I’ve seen here. Some things here are over hyped. I wasn’t impressed. I took the royal gorge train ride. That was nice but only if you actually go out to the open cart area. Otherwise depending which side you sit inside you might not see much. I was told if you get first class seats then the open cart there is only for first class. That first class open cart was pretty empty vs the other ones were jammed packed. Royal Gorge also has gondola’s which look way better than in Glenwood Springs. And they have zip lines, a bridge to walk through up high between two mountains which looked super cool and scary. I didn’t spend much time there except the train ride since I ran out of time. But it would be worth exploring. Don’t bother going to emerald lake in crested butte. We almost destroyed our car trying to get there. And it only allows high clearance vehicles there per the sign on the road. There are huge pot holes at the end. Very dangerous driving and I parked the car on the side of the road and walked the rest of the way there. The ‘lake’ was a small pond nothing impressive. I don’t know if when the sun hits it at a certain angle if it looks better? I don’t know but it looked nothing like the pictures or videos I’ve seen. I was mad for driving 2 hrs 40 minutes for that. I turned around and went home. What a joke. We started cooking at home since the food wasn’t great. Maybe in the city of Denver or Colorado Springs it would be better? We started staying in more at the cabin and exploring our town in Bueno vista. I have mixed feelings about this trip. Really think some things are hyped up. 70 degrees feels like 90 degrees so unless you get up super early and enjoy that cool crisp air or evening time it actually is very hot during the day. Going to towns like crested butte has some scary roads up in the mountains with no rails on the side of the roads. I drove looking right on the road so I wouldn’t panic looking at the steep drop off cliffs. It was very nerve wracking and I canceled my maroon bells trip for that reason.

Thanks for the great video! Quick question: We are a group (14) going on a ski vacation to Glenwood in February, If you had to recommend us one: the pool at Glenwood Hot Springs or Iron Mountain? (we plan on doing this in the afternoon) Thank you!!!
@JeanieMarie2 жыл бұрын
I prefer to go in mornings to both as they aren't as busy. But for evening I would recommend Iron Mountain as you'll get a nice sunset view. Have so much fun!
