Thanks for the great video. I am planning to retire from central California to Glenwood Springs in a couple of years. It has everything I want: Reasonable cost of living, great scenery, access to great hiking, whitewater, and skiing (near Aspen), and only about a 3-hour freeway drive from Denver and Red Rocks Amphitheater (important to me because I am a big concert fan). I came to GS for the first time about 30 years ago and fell in love with it, and I have visited many times since.

@from Yuliana Sunlight mountain resort.15 minutes from town. Not big like Aspen( 1 hour drive and ski ticket 200$) but nice especially for families with kids. Afordable ski school.Most of the hotels in Glenwood springs can sell you ski tickets for 70$ adult+1 child ski free.

I used to go to Glenwood Springs for the weekends sometimes in the late 90's, and the cost of the hot springs was $5 or $6. $35 now! Wow, what a rip off compared to what that used to be, before everyone started moving to Colorado driving up the prices.

It would have been good to show more of the facility and explain what is included in entry fee…lockers, towels, showers, in/out privileges? What to do/not do? Is there a snack bar? Is lazy river included? Whats the story on the lap pool section? So much info not included in visit to the hot springs pool. 🤷♀️

I can't decide if id I'd like to visit when it's hot and sunny like you did or in the winter when it's covered with snow which also looks magical and go for a sleigh ride down the mountain with the Huskies at Krabloonik kennels. Is krabloonik kennels far from where you were?

@@JeanieMarie Hi Jeanie, I think its about an 1hr away in Aspen. Glenwood springs and Krabloonik Kennels featured in the last episode of Michael Palins TV Travel documentary from 1988 that was a world wide hit over here in the UK and USA when it first aired on TV 33 years ago. It's still regarded by many as the greatest travel documentary of all time . Not sure if you have seen it but Michael Palin had to get around the world in 80 days without using any Air travel, following the same route as Phileas Fogg from the book Around The World in 80 Days. When he got to America, he made an un-planned stopped off at Glenwood Springs and did the hot air balloon ride too before going to Aspen to take a ride with the huskies down the mountain to the nearest railway station. If you have a bit of time check it out if you haven't seen it. Its probably on KZbin somewhere. Your video captured some of the places he stood. Amazing. I loved it the first time I saw it.

Hello! I have been wanting to visit Glenwood Springs for a few years now. We are looking for the best place to stay without a car. Is anything walking distance or are ubers popular there
@JeanieMarie3 жыл бұрын
Stay near the Glenwood Springs Hot Springs / Grand Avenue downtown area. Very walkable area to lots of dining, shopping and the hot springs. The Hot Springs is a resort, so you can stay there. OR if you want to be right off Grand Avenue, The Hotel Denver is right there. Everyting is really close and they have great walking paths. As for Uber, I'm not sure... open the uber app and search to see if there are ubers. You'll love Glenwood Springs! Enjoy!
