The very best performances take you into an intimate, enchanted and exalted world of their own, where the dusty considerations of this world do not apply. And this is the reality. All three continuo players make their individual contribution, and the combination is magic. The singers too, perfection, and they join with the continuo to make one ravishing sound. The sounds cannot be separated, nor would one want to try.

I'm wondered with this sacred musical work of german early baroque. ¿How it's not more known and performed? This it has outstanding expressivity. In this aspect it reminds me to Schütz. Thank you!
This brings such joy to me - thank you thank you thank you for posting for all of us who would never otherwise have the chance to hear you!

Teach us to consider that we must die, so that we might become wise. Lord, turn again to us, and be merciful with your servants! In the morning, fill us with Your grace, so that we might praise You and be happy all our lives long.

2017.8.14 :On Saturday, 12 August 2017 these Swiss singers visited Victoria, B.C, Canada and presented Israelis Bruennlein by Schein. Harp was replaced with Luete. The audience were listening to the quire by following the verses written in the programme, just as seen in this you-tube. Schein was a good introducer of the Italian Baroque to less musically advanced Germany. However, J.S.Bach, born half a century after the death of Johann Schein, wrote music, which revolutionized the whole Western music. Eiji Furuyama

7:45 Die mit Traenen saeen 22:00 Zion spricht (so vergesse ich dein nicht ) I thought they had omitted Ihr seid die Gesegneten des Herrn, but they do sing it later, and magnificently. At 39:22 you can see the organist turning several pages backwards, and then it begins.

Schein: 1615-1630, Bach 1723-1750.

A marvellous recording! I liked no. 3 best (Die mit Traenen saeen). However, I missed no. 9 (Der Herr denket an uns). At ~30'10" no. 8 leads directly in to no. 10. What happened, is there a different order of pieces?
