Thanks for posting... Would you be able to point me to one of your videos that shows the bypass trail? I tried looking through some of the videos and didn't find one. I have a friend that wants to know what it is like and my explanation is apparently not enough for him. He is concerned about pushing his bike up the "upper" bypass trail.

I don’t believe I have video of the upper bypass. Have walked the bike through there once. It’s steep in places, especially going downhill, so he’ll need to be prepared to hold the brake levers when needed.

Thanks for the video. How much elevation gain do you estimate and/or what is the difficulty level of this route?

If you go by bike, the difficulty is the bypass trail. It’s fairly steep and you’ll have to walk the bike unless you’re a mountain biker and even they would have to dismount in a few places. The old road is fairly level until Altaire Picnic Area, then it climbs steadily, then steeply to the Overlook. Elevation gain is around 300 feet.
