You can do this the same way in the gba version too. Just a slightly different way, there is also a mirror clipping glitch that causes a similar glitch when you jump and save in mid air in the snes version

If you can access the moonpearl, you can get off the mountain alot easier using boots. Then, if you have a bottle, you can skip that mirror glitch at the frog, but use a bottle instead. Which looks even more glitchy

Found a easy way on 3ds to do this, select buffer. Make sure to have mirror equipped. 1.Walk to the ledge all the way then stop. 2. Press select to bring up save menu and hold left. 3. Press start while holding left and immediately press select again (IMMEDIATELY IS STRESSED HERE. ) Link will already have taken two steps toward the ledge if above steps are followed. While still holding left and continue game highlighted you can close the menu and use the mirror right before link jumps by pressing Y fast and repeatedly. Not sure if this was already know but I got the idea from pause buffering but this is easier imo.

you can skip lanmolas after getting the gloves in desert AND moldorm after getting the moon pearl. sure you only have 5 hearts but you can use this time to ALSO get the flute early so you can have flute and tempered even before doing PoD

If you take the tempered sword back to the dark world, you can go into level 3 and use it to kill things. bunny link behaves quite oddly... he can run, he can pick things up (but not carry them... you immediately throw whatever you pick up), open chests and doors, etc. but these abilities are unstable and can go away without warning. thanks for sharing this glitch, I'm having a lot of fun with it

I think getting the master sword won't 'overrule' the tempered sword. But I'll have to try it to be sure. Still there isn't no real (time)benefit from this glitch (I really like it though!) for me personally. After Palace of Darkness for the hammer, I will complete Thieves Town first. And then, with the Titan's Mitts, you can power up your sword and other stuff very fast.

Since this gives you the tempered sword even though you didn't give the blacksmiths the master sword, does this mean that the fairy in the pyramid will give you the golden sword even if you don't have the tempered sword yet? I mean, there's no reason _not_ to already have the tempered sword unless you're skipping around, but I was thinking of passing up on the tempered sword next time I play, just as an experiment.

It unfortunately doesn't work that way. If you do this and then get the Master Sword later, it downgrades you from the level 3 to the level 2 sword. You can just go back to the Dwarfs and reforge it to level 3 immediately afterward though.

I LIKE BREAD watch this video again in the main menu on the bottom right he has the level 1 sword not the level 2 but the level one and when he gets it he has a level 3 skipping a level 2 it's like he opened up the menu screen on purpose before giving the sword watch it and see what the sword level is on the bottom right and then he gets the tempered sword any opens up the mail again on purpose and you'll see it's a level 3 but what happens when you get the level 2 sword do you prevent yourself from getting a level 3 or does it just stay the level 3 that's what I'm asking

Yes, it goes straight from level 1 to level 3. When you "upgrade" to the Master Sword later in the game after getting all the pendants, it will downgrade you from the level 3 sword to the level 2 sword. However, you can immediately re-upgrade the sword back to level 3 by visiting the dwarves again, who will forge it back to level 3.

Breaking the seal at Hyrule Castle is a story event, that enemy is considered impenetrable until after you do the Master Sword quest.

I finally did it. I did it on my super nes mini I bought. It took so many attempts to the around the skulls (a whole day of attempts and leaving the console on all night) wishing the whole time I could emulator save like him. But after a slow motion video on my phone i saw the pattern of bunny link and saw that the foot goes twice then on the 3rd step he jumps in a fluid motion. After that it was just just getting the timing of a quick 1,2, push. It works on the mini just be patient and carefully do each step he is saying.

@Joshua Fischer The way I understand this, "programming correcting the glitch" implies that Nintendo knew about it, but didn't bother fixing it. From what I've observed of the games industry, that attitude's more of a modern thing... I mainly thought that the dwarf stays with his partner because of Kethinov's comment above. To be honest, I haven't performed this glitch either (yet - it seems like a fun way to enjoy LttP), so I can't be sure it works the way I think it does.

@@hostiusasinhostilityhostil7853 the reason they didn't fix this because it is pretty fun. In reality, developers are lot more smarter than people thinks. They knew about game mechanics because they are the one who made it. That's why they also knew about different possibilities from that mechanics and glitches you can get from it. They mostly leave it because they think it is fun and difficult enough for people for not really game breaking. There is also super Metroid where developers knew about mechanics of speed booster from abusing speed booster counter. They intentionally make it like that so that people can find a way to charge shinespark in less distance by finding this inner mechanic of super Metroid but they didn't tell it about in game itself. This could also be true about mockball but it is also possible to be not. It could possible they realise this interesting exploit from speed booster counter after they make this mechanic and decided to retain it because it is fun or possibly they make it like that for that reason in the first place. But they definitely knew about this simple exploit of speed booster counter.

I got the frog rescue sequence to work on my SNES (original USA cartridge) after about 20 minutes of experimentation. The key to the timing seems to be the bassline of the dark world music (bunny overworld theme, same as in your video). Pressing left and then pressing Y exactly 2 sixteenth notes later is just the ticket (DOO-da-DA-da-da-da-da-da).

Great video sir! Just worked for me pretty quickly on the 3ds. I always have trouble with the death mountain boss. With the tempered sword, it took 3 hits with no "fast phase". I'm doing this every time from now on lol.

Chris Watson yes.Yes you can.If you got tempered sword before master sword DONT get master sword.Itll untemper your sword.

You CAN get the master sword, it will untemper it, but after you beat the next boss and you go to the dark world, repeat the first glitch and you can temper it again.
